After the rain delay in shipping here in the "F"lowcountry as I'd call it this babe showed up yesterday. She's all that and a bag of chips. The 'burst, the tones, and the consistency between it and my 290 are amazing. She's got a wider neck than my LP and weighs about the same (@8.5 lbs). I'm eager to gig this one and get some miles in together. I traded away a G&L and some $$ for this but IMO it's an upgrade worth every penny. She's a 2011 City Limits and she's been named "emmylou" to go with "evangeline" my 290. I tried to capture the color as best I can and the sun really helps show off the figure in the top and the "iced tea burst" finish. Christopher! Man I know you were "BLOWN AWAY" when you opened the case and saw this "BEAUTY" sitting in it! You will smile knowing that I was going to go with the ICE TEA BURST and changed my mind to go with the very first "lemondrop" finish that Collings has done on my Lefty Collings Cl Standard that I posted in the forum recently ! I freaking love Collings "Iced Tea Burst" and could very well end up getting a Collings I35-LC in the ICE TEA BURST finish! Congratulations on a truly beautiful Collings CL! :-) Love your Tobacco Bust 290! Mac

Wow, nice guitar! Hope you know how lucky you are, you Americans: you can play (and then buy) the finest guitars and amps in the world (and Collings are the most appealing to me). Ok, UK has amazing amps too. Germany has Duesenberg. Italy had, one day, famous wahs. And in France... we have eBay to buy guitars and amps from US! (or Germany - love my Duesenberg ).

Thanks gents. It's a keeper. There's a lot of sustain with this guitar and to my ears the Imperials compliment it well. I can go clean to mean like I do on the 290. The pots on this are dimarzio instead of Emerson pro which are on the 290. They turn faster although their taper is similar to the EP ones. Mac-I was lucky to find the deal on this iced tea beauty. Your lemondrop is hot and reminds me of my Lester.

Man! She's a beaut. It's just shocking to me; every Collings I've ever held, just felt "right!"

The pots on this are dimarzio instead of Emerson pro which are on the 290. They turn faster although their taper is similar to the EP ones. I know Collings uses CTS pots so I had to research this..... and found: "Our Emerson Pro Pots are custom made for us by CTS to our exacting specifications. What makes our pots different than other CTS variants on the market? ALL of our pots are hand metered to ensure that they meter within our advertised +/- 8% tolerance of the 250K or 500K resistance. Our Emerson Pro Pots are low torque and feature a proprietary custom audio taper that we designed to maximize response (you can turn down all the way to 2 and its like you just turned down your amp)." From the Emerson website. The DiMarzio are Dimarzio branded CTS as well. Glad you dig it brother. Can't wait to wail a few licks on it! ROck on!!

No idea what they are, I have no plans on changing anything!

Played my first show with this guitar yesterday afternoon. It was outdoors and gorgeous weather for an Oktoberfest party. We played from 3-7 with one break and the CL sang the whole day. There are so many great sounds it can do and it had no problems going from pop to alt rock, hip hop, to 80s jams. The guitar looked great, too.
