I don't own a Monza (yet), but have always been very interested in them. I read so much about people using 1x10 and 1x12 combo's, but I always wonder about a Monza through a bigger cab. I exclusively use old marshall 4x10 (1965) cabs. does anyone use their Monza heads through any 4x10 or 4x12 cabs, (any brand) and how does it sound with a bigger cab?

I just have to say that the Monza is probably my favorite amp...I can't imagine it sounding bad in a 4x10 or 4x12 cab. But alas I've only used it in a 1x10/1x12 cab with a WGS Reaper and WGS G10C/S...it was wonderful. I've got the infamous 1x10 cab with Red Fang...it smokes it's so cool. It really compliments other amps well and has the best lead tone one could imagine....if that one liked rock, blues and fuzz.
It has an unmistakeable sound and always steals the show in a dual amp setup.
Now hopefully somebody will come here and answer your question Regarding experience with said cabs

I've got a Marshall 1965 4x10 but I've never tried my Monza with it. The thing sounds so huge with the stock 1x10 Red Fang that I haven't bothered! Not to derail your thread, but I did try one of the Celestion G10L speakers from the Marshall cab in my Monza and my Mini-Z. It sounds great with the Mini, but the Red Fang stays in the Monza.

Well maybe you could toss that Ol Monza up on the 1965 and flick the power switch to...vr vr vr vroom. If you get the hankering we'd love to hear about it.

I'm on the road in California right now, but when I get home I'm going to try that 4x10/Monza combination. Like I said, the little thing sounds so dang huge as is that I've never wanted it to sound bigger!

I run a Monza into a Port City 2x12 and it kills. Can't imagine it through a 4x12 as sounding bad!

Compared to the Red Fang it sounded...meager. The mids were a little too scooped for me, and it lacked the low mids/bass authority of the Red Fang. The Monza/Red Fang combo is brilliant in concept and execution. It works so well...I'm going to try to get the Monza hooked up to the Marshall 4x10 later today. The Marshall 4x10 (at the moment) has 3 Celestion G10L and one Jensen P10R 10" in it. The 4th Celestion is currently in my Mini-Z. Should be interesting...but I just can't ever get over how HUGE the Monza combo sounds with the Red Fang. It's immense sound out of a tiny little box. Amazing.

+ 1. What Dave said. The Red Fang and Monza are hard to beat.

Amazing. now just imagine the Monza through your 4x10 loaded with red fangs, or 1/2 red fangs and 1/2 g10L's ? oh I bet the wheels are spinning now!
