I plan to buy a Monza and a Carmen Ghia each as a combo. I want to get one as a 10" red fang and the other as a 12" and then I can swap between cabs. (Swap each between the internal speaker and the speaker in the other combo). Which would you buy? The Monza with 10" or the CG with 10"? Since I'll often be grabbing and going is like the best of each but with the added benefit of using the speaker from each with the other. Thanks.

I'd do the Monza in a 1x10, and the Ghia in a 1x12.
The "little" Monza is a monster in the 1x10 size--very portable, lots of volume, and very fun. The stock 10" Red Fang gets a lot of love with that amp, but I also like the regular ol' Eminence Ramrod, too.
The Ghia, meanwhile, might do better with a 12" speaker. It's an amp that can sound very different depending upon which speaker you use... which means that you might be tempted at some point to try a new speaker with it. And once you start swapping/trying new speakers, you'll be glad you're shopping for 12" ones, and not 10" ones.

They are a great pairing. I love the Monza in the 10" combo, but it does sound great thru a G12H style speaker in the 12". The Ghia will sound great in either but it fills out the pairing better in a 12". The 10" sits the Monza in a killer spot for solos with the ten cutting and punching. The 12" fills out the rhythm and single notes on the Ghia as the Monza has more power than the Ghia. It was my dream pairing....enjoy

I second the Red Fang for the Monza, and I think if you go with the 12" in the Ghia, you should seriously consider Doc's new "Z12" speaker. It's the one that comes stock with the Z-Lux, and it's very reasonably priced. I bought one of them a few months ago and yesterday I moved it to a 1x12 semi open back cab that I built about 15 years ago. I've never been really happy with that cab, and I've tried about 10 different speakers in it. Everything from an EVM-12L to a Celestion Blue. The Z12 speaker completely transformed that cab from 'meh' to 'Yeah!'
