Joined the Remedy club! I'm a big fan so far. I like it best on full power with the MV around 2 o'clock, Bass @ 9, Mid @ 11, T @ noon, High Vol @ 1 o'clock and low at 10. I'm playing mostly my Les Paul and SG with the amp and it loves humbuckers. It's a really easy amp to dial in. I can get a good range of somewhat clean to very dirty tones, which was just what I was looking for. (No need for super clean at the moment).
I'm boosting the Remedy with a Spaceman Aphelion and that's a pretty nice combo . It loves octave fuzz too- try an EQD Fuzz Master General with it if you can.
I've got a few cabs lying around, but so far I'm liking a Mojotone 2x12 with Celestion G12-35XC's. It was a little more tight in the lows with this setup than with a Germino cab loaded w/ Greenbacks, which felt a little too "loose" for my liking. I also really liked a 4x12 cab I got to audition that had an X pattern of (pair) of Eminence Tonkers and (pair) WGS Veteran 30's. Way louder than greenbacks but really great midrange tone and thicker lows.
My only concerns with amp are that I wouldn't mind if it had a slightly stiffer feel, i.e. maybe a bit more oomph like my Plexi. How you play a note very quickly and it responds instantly kind of thing. There is just a bit of sag in the Remedy that I feel, more than hear. It's not a bad thing, I'm just thinking I wouldn't mind a stiffer response- maybe a rectifier swap or possibly a treble booster is in order?
Also, I love the features on this amp (MV, 1/2 power, jumpered preamp) but I wish there was an effects loop! It's in no way a deal breaker and I could always get a Suhr ISO line out or a Bad Cat Unleash, but that is adding hundreds to my purchase, when it seems like it could be a fairly useful feature to many players and probably be included.
Anyways, back to playing!
