Anybody have experience with Michael Kelly guitars? Premier Guitar magazine has a deal for their online subscribers they refer to as PG Perks that offers up special deals. The deal this month is on Michael Kelly guitars. You can check out there website to see their products. I just ordered their "1953" tele style guitar that MSRPs for $580 for a free freight delivered price of $299.95. The pics of this guitar are awesome. Alder body with highly figured maple cap in faded blue denim finish with a birdseye maple neck and rosewood board. I'm taking a chance on it after reading reviews online that were highly favorable. If the fit and finish is decent I plan to put an APC neck pickup and Peter Florence Voodoo No caster bridge pickup with 4 way switching on it. If it is a dog, maybe I can get some of my money back.

Got the Michael Kelly guitar in. Beautiful finish and really nice workmanship. They got a little carried away tightening some if the screws and just slightly tweaked the heads so there are a couple of sharp edges. Nothing that can't be remedied pretty easily. It was in tune out of the box but needs a proper set up.
No the fun part. This thing has killer tone. The pups are Michael Kelly branded so I don't know if they wind them in house or have an unnamed supplier but they sound great. It has a regular neck pickup and a stacked Humbucker with coil split via the tone knob. Not bad for a $299 guitar.
