After playing a bunch of shows with a z-28... Thought it would be cool to point out how great it fits in mix live. It is an amp with rich & lively mids... Which allows room for the sparkle of cymbals and the low end of a bass guitar/kick drum. The amp almost sounds more alive with a full band than it does alone! Not sure if that perspective was ever discussed on the forum.

This couldnt me more true. Z28 may be my next Z. In a few weeks I'm gonna be buying a new head- either a EZG or Z28, still havent decided.

Like a lot of Z's in a band mix is where things shine! Some never really get that and gear them for home use then complain that they do not cut through the mix enough with the band. Glad you are enjoying the 28' it is a great amp.

I used to own a EZG and have played A 28 a bunch of times. They are different amps yes, but as I also have a JAZ 20/40, I'm debating which one would be a better compliment

When I had my '28, I remember it was my least favorite amp for jamming in the basement by myself. It, along with the Route 66 I used to have, had a bit of a pronounced lower midrange bump. But when playing with a band, it was wonderful. The dynamics, the clarity....just great.
But in the end, I'm an old 4 input Marshall guy, so I sold the Z-28 and stuck with my Remedy.

Z-28 is truly a treat in a live-setting. Plenty of tone and volume to be enjoyed Fully cranked with a good Les Paul (or reasonable facsimile), the Z-28 will bring a huge smile to your face cheers always, Joel
