Just picked up a 1x12 z with a blue & brake lite for $400. This is going with my 2x10 z and my Ghia. Brake lite is for church. Gonna be running 2 cabs opposite ends of stage at both church and band gigs now. So stoked. I was my birthday present, Precious. Yes Precious, yes. Hobbitses.
My word, these are incredible amps/cabs.

Score! The cabs are amazing, I recently also got a 1 x12 convertible as well. That Blue will help keep the Spirit moving on Sundays hopefully.

A Ghia 1x12 with a Blue and a Z 2x10 cab are a thing to behold. I used to stack mine, chime and punch all in one place, who could ask for more. I've since downsized to a Ghia in a Mather small 1x12 cab with a gold…just what my 71 year old arms need.

I usually play with the volume at 3 o'clock and use a few other boosts on top of that. I'm worried it'll push too much power into that blue

I don't think I've ever turned my Ghia to 3:00 on the dial. For the stuff I play, 10:00 to 11:00 is plenty loud. If a Blue can handle the Maz 18 with no problem I can't see any issues with the Ghia. I'm currently using a Celestion Gold with the Ghia only because one became available at a good price. Up 'till then the Blue did just fine.
The only way you'll find out is to try it; the Doc wouldn't offer it if it couldn't handle it.
Perhaps other members can give you more info on higher cranked Ghias with a Blue.

Howdy,
I've also got a Ghia head and a Z 1x12 cab with a 'Blue. Sounds fantastic! I slightly prefer my Weber AlniCo silver bell speaker, though. The 'Blue offers more..complexity and better Keith Richards raunch. The Silver Bell has beautiful, chimey cleans, more bottom end but doesn't do that barely breaking up, Keef stuff as well as the 'Blue. The 'Blue offers less headroom, which is the reason it stays in my Z 1x12 cab. YMMV.

(amp is at 3 o'clock but i'm running the brakelite as well)

Blue sounds great with the Ghia! If you try it, but the low end seems a little loose for your liking, there are other options. As others have said, the Celestion Gold or Weber Silverbell are two great choices. Also, there is a new Celestion on the block that sounds a lot like the Blue but stays tighter in the lowend - the Cream Alnico.

The Blue and the Ghia were born for each other - a perfect match. The Blue will absolutely handle the Ghia without any problem.
Now, if you're running 2 cabinets though, make sure you use ONLY 1 OUTPUT on the amp and use a Y-cord to connect the cabs to the amp.

Yeah, my Brakelite has 2 outputs so I run 2 8ohm cabs from it and plug the brakelite into the 4ohm on the amp. The Ghia sounds really, really good but it doesn't have enough sheer volume to keep up with my rock band (even playing through a mesa v30 4x12 cab). I'm now considering saving up for a EZG-50. I know it's a different sound altogether but I'm highly interested in it. The blue sounds great when paired with the 2x10 but on its own, it's a tad too mushy since I mostly play a 335 and only occasionally switch to a LP or a tele. Might have to checkout the Creamback of its got higher power handling.

Msterling45,
I liked my ES-335 with my Ghia and 'Blue, although I will concede your point. I simply played at lower volume with my ES-335 to compensate. With the Weber AlniCo Silver Bell (30 watts, Pre-Rola treatment) it proved ideal for British Invasion clean tones. As you already know, this combo is great for Bloozy raunch, also. Enjoy.
