Little brown truck just dropped off a new Z speaker! Thinking about the creamback combo in a Z best. But I might have to try it alone with the Therapy first.

Small amount of time with wife in the house first impression. Gibson 335>Therapy.
As Dr. stated it is American based speaker, no honk. Cleans are really nice (V=9-10 O'clock, MV=9-10) when pushed (V=1-3, MV same) it is thick but articulate with the 335. I need to try it with the LP seems like it would ROCK!
It is new so it acts like a new speaker (little stuff) seems like when it breaks in it will FEEL comfortable. I have tried a WGS vet 30, Em. govenor, gold, and V30 with the Therapy. So far my favorite was the WGS but the Z needs break in time.
I can see why the Dr. liked it with the EZG, MAZ Sr., Z28, and I can imagine the Lux (but I do not have or tried one). Again this is just my opinion and as you all know tone preferences are different.

It will be funner to hear about what happens when the wife isn't at home and the master volume is up above noon and your ears are sorta ringing with the satisfaction of a good blasting from your Z's...but it's nice to hear first impressions.

Again this is just my opinion and as you all know tone preferences are different. I plugged the Therapy into the Z-12 (in my Z-Lux combo) today. It's magnificent. Went the rounds of Tele, Strat and LP. All good, both clean and with push. I believe I tried it with a Gold some months back, and it was good, but I like the Z-12 better. At least I did today. There is the mid-scoop "American" voicing, but the Therapy's strong mid control can partially offset that if you wish. It's quite different from a Creamback in a closed-back cab, which is another set up I like with the Therapy. It's funny (peculiar) because I had the Therapy plugged into a stock Z Best briefly a day ago and wasn't happy with the tone, which I recall having liked quite a bit previously. Probably needed more dialing time: Z Best has a lot of bass. But today into the Z-12, the T was just dripping with good sounds.

I do not have the most developed ears, but here are my impressions of the Z-12(8 ohms) after a half hour right out of the box.I like this speaker with the Therapy,Brighter than the Eminence Wizard I had in there, but actually calms down the very high highs a bit.Louder than the Wizard, and more headroom with single coils-still almost 100% clean at 9:15 on the volume.I think this will make the Therapy even more Tweed/Brown-ish.I'm gonna let it break in for awhile. Oh yea, open back 1x12.

I've had my Z-12 speaker mounted in my Z 1x12 cab now for a few weeks, and like nmz, I really like it with the Therapy too. I'm running mine open back right now. It opens up the Therapy's tone options more than any other speaker I've tried. Really a great sounding speaker. Clean or overdriven, it sounds big and full, nicely defined on the top end with just a little mid scoop. That cab sounds good with any amp I've plugged it into!

I was wondering about this the most as the Therapy seems to be able to put on many faces with the V30 in it. I'm guessing the mid scoop. An be altered with the mid knobs so it's mid heavy still?

With the Therapy, I've got my mids set right straight up at 12:00 high. Plenty of room either way, and it sounds great with a tele or a paul. Bass at 9:30, treble at 1:00.
