forgot about this guy , looks like a good video (t his absorbing documentary looks at the stormy career of Pittsburgh Pirates ace Dock Ellis, who threw a no-hitter June 12, 1970, while high on LSD.) "No No A Dockumentary" netflix

heck, that's nothing.I'm a Met fan,so you know I hate giving respect/credit to any Yankees, but Jim Abbott threw a no hitter while on the Yankees WITH ONE HAND. Me,i find that pretty hard to top.
Ps-I gave up drugs(other than booze, caffeine, and refined sugar)a long time ago,and the only ones I ever miss are the psychadelics-I had some good times, and wouldn't mind a repeat performance..the wife wouldn't want to know about it though.

good stuff. watched it yesterday afternoon. Cool to know there's was so much depth and substance beyond the "substance" use. That letter from Jackie Robinson was something.
as for the act of throwing a no-hitter on LSD, I've dabbled in the psycho-actives and I'm sure I have no idea how you do something like that. I've never been able to anything that constructive while under the influence... least of all play guitar. Forget about it...

its been many many years, but, no way, i couldnt hear a thing right, nor focus. Dock must have been able to hone in on simple instinct and experience being on the mound, and he focused on the catchers tape on this fingers, somehow the stars were aligned, heck i dont know, but i think the lsd at that time was pretty freakin potent, they were testing GIs with it at edgewood arsenal maryland in the 9th grade while i was at the base craft shop making freakin molds of butter dishes and sh&t for kiln making, it was only a few short years later it came around. whew. couple not so fun, couple pretty much fun,,,i hope i'm younger than that now, if ya dint know i'm a baseball freak and have followed the kc royals since they were the athletics with the donkey on the field and chuck finley trying to have orange baseballs..my uncle died at age 45 but he could throw like a major league pitchers, well for at least a few consecutive pitches,,, i had no idea how he could throw a ball about 80 miles and hour and when it got to your glove it dropped right in front of you,,
