Just snatched up our own Abandoned's Surf Green M12 and ZBest cab! I've really liked his rig since he posted the NAD thread a while back and have secretly lusted after it....creepy? (did I say that out loud...or type that in text?) Anyways, looking forward to having another M12 in the house. I started with a Carmen Ghia, my favorite Z amp, but just not quite enough headroom with buckers. I ended up with a Maz 18 which I liked as well, but wanted an M12 when they came out so sold the Maz in favor of the M12. I stupidly sold the M12 when I joined the Worship Team at my church and bought a ....gasp....HD500. After the HD500 fiasco I went nuts and bought a Two Rock and now....well.....

From a new guy on the block, my M12 is inbound as well, can't wait till it gets here! A good friend has the Maz18 and I love playing it! This is my first Z, been using a THD Bi-Valve but wanted a warm combo. I am always using pedals, so the M12 was my choice after reading from multiple players that the Carmen didn't give you much clean headroom with humbuckers.

The Ghia is my favorite amp of all I've ever owned, but I can also vouch that it doesn't have much headroom with buckers. However, it cleaned up so well with the guitar's volume knob that I didn't really miss the lack of headroom because I could compensate with the guitar volume.

congrats on the M12. LOOOVE mine!
Not that you are looking for advice, but I like to run a really good clean boost at the end of my chain that stays on all the time. Set just above unity volume for just a little extra kick in the pants to the front end of the amp.
also, I really like the low setting on the switch for running pedals.
Just a few unsolicited thoughts that may or may not be helpful!

Would eventually like an Emerson Paramount for a Stage 2 drive and a Bogner Red for heavy rock.

If you have access to one, I'd suggest trying a Fairfield Barbershop through it - it compliments the M12 perfectly as an edge-of-break always-on od.
