Okay, who admits to watching it? We watch it. We complain about the storylines, the characters, and the actors, and then we faithfully tune in the next week . If we can't, it's on the DVR. Buddy Miller (I'm a fan) is the musical director, and the musical segments are usually of pretty high quality and "realistic" for the most part from a musician's point of view (although there have been some exceptions). Ironically the music itself probably would fly well below the radar of the commercial country world, yet the people singing it are all on the verge of becoming huge stars on the show. I didn't say it was GOOD, but I watch it!

I thought you were talking about the the Robert Altman film from the late '70's which is a great film.
Haven't heard about this show.

I'm another faithful. I keep swearing it off, since the plots have gotten pretty soap opera like, but I too keep tuning in. T Bone Burnett's wife is behind it and he was the musical directer at first. Buddy Miller does a nice job too. They have a pretty good stable of song writers cranking them out for them.

I like it. I also like the actual "performance" show they do once a year.

Ok....now I might have to tune in ! Keith - Buddy Miller has been in a few episodes and every now and then you can hear his unmistakeable guitar playing on one of the performances. It's an odd path perhaps, but Buddy is responsible for introducing me to "good" country music. I heard Emmylou's Wrecking Ball and I was blown away. Then I heard her Spyboy live disc from around that time and heard Buddy - and then I got hooked on his solo stuff, which led me down other paths. I wasn't much of a country fan prior to that..although I guess he does the Americana thing. So hard to keep up with all of these genre labels ;-)

My wife and I watch it. The drama is just that... very much like a soap opera, but the Music is awesome. Love it. The two daughters are amazing together.

Then I'd see him with others (Patty griffin, etc). I bought his 'Majestic Silver Strings' album a few years back and I love it. Oh, and Spyboy/Wrecking Ball is usually in heavy rotation around these parts !
