Myles, would you say that the KT45 isn't as percussive as the Stangray?

Myles, would you say that the KT45 isn't as percussive as the Stangray? The KT45 is much more percussive and clean than a Ray. Don't forget, it a grid biased amp and as so it tighter than a cathode biased amp generally. If you use a SS rectifier in a KT-45 is is one of the loudest, tightest, and cleanest amps around depending on how the tone controls are set to push the output tubes as this is a cool feature of the design. (Same cool tone circuit is shared by the Z-28, Route 66 and Delta 88 by the way). The KT45 is a spectacular piece of design and execution and has been the foundation of rigs that range from country clean to rhythm guitar to very hard rock. It is a versitile amp that also has tons of clean headroom, more than a Delta 88 actually.

Does the 6545 have the 45 same tone as just the KT45 or is it different?

Great-looking amp, Harvey! I guess I'm the newest member of the KT-45 club, man I love this amp....I'm in the process now of building a new cab with 2 greenbacks, I'll post some pics when its done.
