I am considering an original version... What is the difference between the original version and the more recent version? Thanks for any help...

The newer version has a Post Phase Inverter Master volume. It allows you to get those cranked up Plexi tones at lower volumes. A very nice and useful feature.

New one also has the tone stack lift with footswitch.
I have the original here, and I've been tempted to update it, but it seriously smokes the way it is, and with my Airbrake I can get it to the level I need without a master volume. Plus I'm a guitar volume adjuster for changing up rhythm to lead, and this amp responds wonderfully to that approach.
That said, I've never seen anyone here who had the original and updated it say they regretted it. Suffice it to say, both versions rock hard.

I did have my original modded. I'm one of the guys Steve cites: no regrets. Added flexibility, no sonic difference other than when the bypass is engaged.

I had mine modded also with the master volume and eq bypass. Absolutely worth it! The master volume works very well and you can dial in the tone and volume easily. The eq bypass is a nice boost and thickening. It works much better on the Remedy than on my Maz Jr.
