Hi all. Recently ordered a 1x12 convertible to go with my red Remedy. I got it with the Z-wreck grill cloth and I'm wanting to switch up the head to match the cab.
Few things.....I need black piping...what size and how much do I need? And how hard is it to swap?
Also, need to get matching Z's. Can I snag a black Z from a Z dealer or maybe direct? Also thinking of maybe checking into a couple sexier Z's from Harvey Reams, but wasn't sure if he offered those as a standalone. I think that would be a nice way to jazz it up for not as much dough. Those valances are sweet as hell, but a little more than I wanna spend on cosmetics, for the time being at least.

You can get the piping at Mojotone. Not sure what size tho. I have replaced piping on my 1x12 combo and it wasn't that hard if you are somewhat handy. Just go slow and make sure the piping is straight and tight. The corners are kinda tricky but take pictures of the existing piping before you remove it for reference.
You may be able to get a Z logo if you call Dr Z amps.

Well I wasn't going to say it, but be reasonable about the Z thing. Why should Dr. Z sell you a logo that represents a company he has literally sweat bullets over to put on a cab that he's never seen? If it's a dog of a cab, all it does is bring down his brand value. I'm not saying it would be that, but he needs to protect his brand value in every way he can. He's a businessman.
You should contact Harvey - he does make a lot of Z's and I'm sure he'll sell you one. But it's not the "official factory" Z, so that doesn't do the same thing to brand value, if you get what I mean.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Definitely wouldn't slap a Z on any old cab. I ordered a Z cab, but the cab has a black Z and head a cream colored.
I messaged Harvey on Facebook and been looking through his Z's. So many cool examples. Trying to figure out the best match for the red tolex and the black/gray grillxloth

Sorry - I get defensive about the Doc's stuff because I've seen some horrid examples. Still, a pair of Z's from Harvey (with the Doc's blessing) would probably look pretty great.
