DC here! I have posted a few soundclips and some pictures as I promised "benttop" & "tw6t6" & others. You'll have to excuse my playing - there's some funny things going on. I have tried to adjust the volume in the clips to minimize volume variations. On the site is a little more info on the gear and the clips. Some clips are just my Telecaster straight into the Route66 - the other clips are the Telecaster into the "Carl Martin Hotdrive n' Boost MK3" - and then into the Route66. mbsb.psy.umu.se/clips/clips.htmlDon't hesitate to ask questions if theres something bugging you. I have some clips recorderd at home with my PODII - I'll put up for comparison. One clip contains a good backing track - this was provided to me by "benttop". Many thanks Steve! Cheers: Dixiechicken

Great selection of clips DC, sounds to me like you`ve got it working nicely. Impressively thick sounding for a tele bridge. I love the crunchy rhythm sound in your `normal`clip.
Have you had a chance to try it with humbuckers

"zdogma" - DC here!
Well only briefly for an hour or so one night at the studio. That's next on the agenda. My Les Paul really needs a fret job - re-fretting - they are very worn down.
Far as I can tell P90 stacks seem to mimick true PAF:s a bit. I've got the micks wired for both serial and parallell humbucking mode. The volume pots have built in dip-switches.
I'll get back when I've had time to record some clips with the "Paul".
Cheers: Dixiechicken

Hey there dixie, I am digging the warm tones going on. It has such a classic old school vibe going on. For fun I would round out your Z goodness with a Stangray. You would have such a great tonal variance. Think of the fun on stage!
Cheers to you Senor Chicken!

" prettynoiselab " - DC here! Thanks for your kindness - it's true I have a weakness for the classic stuff. Although I'm not always actively searching for those sounds - my hands and ears seem to lead me in that direction. Yes the Stangray is actually my favourite after the Route - I just love those chicken-picking Telecaster phatoms from Nashville - I can't play it worth sh@t. Albert Lee has been playing my hometown in Sweden several times - I always go and witch him if I can. I was actually considering the Stangray and in the last minute decided on the Rout66. First I had decided on the Z-28 --> then the Stangray --> went with Route66. Cheers: Dixiechicken!

DC here! Added a fifth clip today from yesterdays session. It's a little solo to "benttop":s backing track. (thanks again Steve) That shows the sound with the Minimass inserted into the chain - the Mass volume set at 9 o'clock. Telecaster played with bridge pickup tone & volume dimed - the boost side of the Carl Martin Hot Drive - engaged with the setting shown in the picture. mbsb.psy.umu.se/clips/clips.htmlAnd yes the backplate of the 2x10" Z-cab is removed. Cheers: Dixiechicken!

The Rt 66 sounds great! Every time I hear that amp I wonder why I've never bought one... My thoughts as well. I had a great deal lined up on one with a matching 2x12 cab at Guitar Center, but someone snatched it via internet sales before I went back the next day. He who hesitates is lost....
