Just watched this and got me thinking....
Was wondering if anyone has tried this? There are plenty of strat and tele players on here so be great to know what you guys think.
Anyone got a better vid with this mod? Paying some telecaster licks?
Or do you think the start should just be left as it is?
You do lose position 4 which I'm not to keen on losing but could be cool

I have a Blend (form 0-10 in my bottom pot) in my Grosh (strat) I get the bridge and neck together for Tele position two and all pups too in
2 and 4 !
Your mod is nice and simple. My Grosh was ordered that way 18 years ago.

The blonde G&L ASAT Classic I have has three pickups a la Strat and when I pull the V knob up I get traditional middle position tele sound when on neck or bridge respectively. I can also add it in at any position on the 5 way switch so in essence it's the best of both worlds with a few more sonic options. It's fun to play live and make some unexpected sounds.

I have a push-pull pot for the bridge pickup on my Anderson. I do use it on occasion. It sounds nice. Not like a telecaster though.

My G&L s-500 does all strat 5 way positions,as well as neck/bridge and all 3 pups at once. The neck/bridge is so good at Tele to my ears I don't feel the need to buy one-other than a cheap one to set up as a "Keef" 5 string G tuned for fun.

I like the idea of the g&l just have a pull switch to activate the bridge and neck.
Do you know how that is wired up and is it just a push pull pot ?

It's a mini toggle, when down it's standard 5-way,when up,1 and 5 are neck/bridge,2 and 4 are all 3,and middle is the same.I think the toggle is well placed so that it can't be engaged without meaning to.Andy does a nice demo here.Mine is a USA model, idk if the Tribute's are wired the same.

I had a blender pot in my Strat for a long time. I didn't really think the neck/bridge combo sounded very Tele-like.

Yeah...interesting change-around to the standard Strat switch, but not what I'd call a "Tele sound". A big part of the Tele bridge sound is the fact that there's a metal plate on the bottom of the pickup attached directly to the metal bridge plate via the mounting screws. You can get closer to that (with a Strat) by attaching one of the Fralin base plates under the bridge pickup. I have one on the Duncan Antiquity in one of my Strats...with the right tone tweaking, it gets real close to Tele-ville.

Yea it's not exact, but to my ears, with a dynacomp set right through a fender/ish amp,it's usable. It's good for me,i only have one guitar, and want to get something LP ish next.

I've got one of my Strats set up with the blender pot too, and it sounds cool but like others said, it's not a Tele.
