I dropped a set of Lindy Fralin pu's in the strat last night and did a quick recording showing the clean bell tone quality...or at least tried to capture it on tape, however it's never quite right by the time you upload and all that. Didn't use any delay, just 7 overdubbed tracks to create some 'delay' effect. As for the Fralin's, what can you say?... ;D meZZmarize

Very nice Bill. This is one time your clip won't cost me anything - I already have the Stingray AND the Strat with Fralins. So why doesn't mine sound like this? Guess I best get out to the woodshed....

Which set of Fralin's did you install? These would be the blues specials. I probably would be better suited to the Vintage Hots, but for now I'll go with these! Hey Steve, you need to help me out and post some more of YOUR Stingray clips...haven't seen any recent ones.

What did you use to record it?
I have some Fralin Woodstocks in my strat, they do sound good.
Peace Shane

Actually I've been real busy lately, and my studio was a wreck. Got to spend a bit of time organizing down there today, and I should have things sorted out to where I can start thinking about clips again. I doubt you'll hear anything like what you put up here though... wow!

Peace Shane I used an SM-57 close/ off center for the 'double stop' section, and back a foot & center for the rhythm tracks. The only effect in the chain is a Keeley compressor, then added verb and various panning on the digital recorder (BD-1200). The speaker is a Scumback H-55-HP. I'm not familiar with the Woodstock Fralins...a Hendrix copy I take it?

I've got the Blues Specials in my Grosh and I've been really pleased with them. They sure sound great on your clip.

Nice! I'm a big fan of Fralins too. I have Blues Specials in my teles. I also really dig Vintage Vibe Guitars pickups. He custom winds to your specs for great prices. As usual, playing and tone are superb. Rings like a bell.

Fralin Blues are what I have in the Squier Strat / Maz Jr stuff I posted. Love them pups...
Bill, those are some of the cleanest and glassiest (shimmering?) tones...very unique. I feel like I should be on a sailboat in the south Pacific...
