I got a Way Huge Pork Loin in a trade. It's a Dunlop one. Anyone had one or familiar with them? This one seems to have a lot of background noise and hiss when the distortion knob is up over half way and/or the volume is up over half way. The guy who had it says it has always been a noisy pedal, but he got it used, so it may have been screwed up when he got it. Doesn't seem to me that it should be this noisy, at least for the cost of it. There doesn't seem to be much noise on the you tube videos I have found either. Anyways, just trying to find out other's experience with them. If it's screwed up, the guy will throw me another pedal instead. I'm likely going to just turn it, so I want to make sure it's right. Thanks.

One of my favorite pedals.
Neither mine or the one the other guitar player in my band use seems overly noisy.
Have you adjusted the internal trim pots? There's a LOT of variation on tap and I can see it getting messed up.
Wait.
What kind of power supply? Mine didn't like being daisy chained and made noise when it was. More what I'd call a whine.
Try just a battery or a dedicated power supply.

I think Bonamassa uses one. Some of the EHX pedals get noise ''like hum'' when daisy chained.

I'll try a battery, once I find one. I've used two different one spots on it alone and a rocktron. It's not hum or whine. It's more like gain noise, and background white noise. Kind of like when you turn up a high gain pedal or high gain amp when it's idling. But it's a low gain pedal. The trim pots are at what it shows as the factory settings and playing with them doesn't seem to have an effect. It also seems to be in the overdrive side of it because if I turn the overdrive down all the way and then just turn up the clean as a clean boost most of it goes away.

I have a way huge green rhino which exhibits the same sort of hiss and noise(though nowhere near as hissy as a soul food) It does it more so if you have other pedals in front of it. Dont forget they are gain pedals and will AMPLIFY noise from other pedals ie circuits in the chain.
