I saw in a thread once that someone ran a foot switch into the high jack on the amp. Refresh my memory, what does this do, do you need to mod anything and does it work the same into the low if you normally run through the high?

You just plug in a footswitch in the jack , and you can toggle back & forth between the hi and low outputs. High has about +3dB of boost. No mods required.

And you can plug the guitar into either input jack, footswitch into the other. Makes no difference as far as I can tell.

Wait, I'm not sure I'm understanding this correctly. I was thinking about hooking up both inputs with an A/B-Switcher but you're telling me I just need a standard footswitch like the one supplied with my MAZ for the EQ bypass and plug it into one of the inputs to toggle back and forth between them?! How does that even work?

That is amazing news and probably replaces the need for a booster/distortion pedal for me completely. Thanks for the info guys!

Fwiw, this causes one of the two "channels" to be *very* noisy for me. I just ordered a mini A/B switcher from T1M effects to achieve the same effect. Hope this works without noise?

I use a Boss switch with an instrument cable and both channels are quiet. Perhaps it's the cord on the footswitch?

I use a Boss switch with an instrument cable and both channels are quiet. Perhaps it's the cord on the footswitch? Quite likely. It's been reported that some cables are not well shielded, resulting in noise.

I tried the one that came with my MAZ for the EQ bypass switch... Will report back when the T1M A/B-Switcher gets here.

My guess is that the bypass footswitch isn't shielded, but I don't know for sure.

Update: The A/B switch didn't work. As soon as both jacks are plugged into the MAZ I guess it closes a circuit between the inputs and switching signal back and forth from either cable won't make a difference. I did order a mini footswitch from T1M as well, however (bottom left). It works brilliantly as described in the OP. Thanks for that!

As to "how does this work" my thought is that having the switch in the jack causes signal to flow through (or not flow through, depending on switch being on-off) the resistor(s) that pad the input signal on the lo input regardless of which jack the guitar is plugged into. I don't know the specific circuit arrangement.
Of course, it could be magic dust as Lee said.
Glad you got it working, dergit. It's a nice bonus.
