Wait! That means I have to put it down! Seriously, though, I've been playing this thing all weekend. In the basement playing now. But, yeah, here it is: Cool guitar, great story. How did you explain bringing home a $3500 guitar?

Hey, thanks guys. I still haven't played any of my other guitars since getting the Collings. The thing is just perfect. It's just so playable everywhere on the neck. Compared to a Gibson, the neck angle is relaxed a bit, the peghead angle is less steep, and the break angle over the bridge is reduced. These three things make a huge difference in playability. The guitar feels slinky, even with .11s, medium action, and a scale length that is 1/8 inch longer than a Gibson. I like the knobs better on the Deluxe models, but I really prefer an unbound fretboard, so standard it is. I somehow sold both my DGT and Eastman this week, so that takes a little bit of the sting out. Is it wrong that I'm sort of looking forward to a rainy, indoor weekend to play the **** out of it some more?

She just rolled her eyes and laughed. As you might imagine, things like this have happened in the past. Of course, my wife & I don't share money, so it's not like I'm taking anything from her, per se. Safe to say, she's a keeper.

As that's gotten pretty full, I've had to sell off gear to bring in new stuff. Well, big stuff like amps and guitars. Always room for another pedal. Or two.

Not sure I could sell $3500, but mine told me the other day when I saw two that struck my fancy, " buy both and see which one you like." They were both eBay deals that finished days apart. I missed one. Got distracted at work. The other is yet to close. I too am jonesing for a 335 type.

My lone acoustic is on the wall in my son's room (good for bedtime, etc). My amps, pedals and bass live in the basement. So, really, I get the whole house, right?

OK, I'm going to resurrect a zombie thread. It's been nearly 3 years since I got the I-35lc. I love it more every time I play it. The only changes I've made were to add a pick guard (my picking was scratching the top a bit), and the matching pickup rings. This one's a keeper! Here's a quick video of me playing the solo to "Peg" by Steely Dan. I think it's pretty close, but maybe not 100%, as I learned it by ear. Close enough, I guess.

Probably the most enjoyable guitar I've ever owned! PS: Great job on Peg!
