Just acquired and got to say this amp is a beast. I used an air brake on BR setting "MAX" and it is still loud. Got to say that I do not like the tone with the BR seting at Max but open the Min/max setting halfway and DARNNNNNNNNNNNN Tried different speakers and the Z best stock sounds AWESOME. I can't believe the "BELL" Sound coming from my strat with this amp. When engaging the Footswitch it got a bit muddy or better word..THICK but not pleasing but just dialed back the attenuator a bit and the amp shined. it is loud for my situation and I have it on the market already but I have an RC pedal coming and may try that volume solution the axeman suggested. Loves my Tele and my strat...even likes my schecter Between the Therapy and the Antidote I have all my ilness in check will keep ya posted. Having second thoughts already. may keep it

Great amp!! Wish it could have worked out for me. Creamback 65 was great in it, also helped tame it a little.

A simple solution (and cost effective) is the Weber LoadDump 50 watt. Not much tone loss at all and overall a very useable unit. taweber.powweb.com/weber/lpld.htmI picked one up used for $55. It works better in a live setting for me than my Rivera RockCrusher which is another great attenuator for home/studio/live. Good luck!

It is a loud bastard of an amp but I would not be so quick to move it. Take the time to get to know each other and discover all it's nuances first. The 1x12 Gold is an awesome combination for the Dote. If you are running it at the bedroom setting you must like your amps very, very quiet, I am surprised the Therapy and EZG aren't too loud. I run mine at 3 or 4 on my brakelite while riding the guitar's volume and it is loud enough for me. If you want heavier OD then put a pedal in front of it. The RC Booster will also knock it down but you may need to crank up the gain to get that sizzle; I am still experimenting with this one. Any how, I hope which ever route you choose works out for you, good luck.

You don't need much volume on the Dote to start moving some serious air, I have found that I have to warn everyone at home before I turn it on even at low volumes. I get complaints from my kids but my wife is good with the walls shaking... I am very lucky in that respect
