well this is shameless noodling, as always ;D but as you can hear, this thing works pretty great! Here's the setup: Grosh Bent Top Custom > SRZ-65 > THD 16 Ohm Hot Plate (-8db) > Weber Ceramic Blue Dog Settings: Gain: Noon Volume: Dimed Treble: 9 o'clock Middle: Dimed Bass: Dimed Presence: 9 o'clock Here's the clip: 07-05-30_blindnoodle.mp3Sorry about the size - this came out over 8 Megs, prolly 'cause I chose 192K Transparent Audio quality mp3. I should say something about the guitar setup. At the start of the track I'm on the neck pup with volume at 5, all tone controls at max. After a bit you can hear me crank the volume up and play a bit wide open on the neck pup. Then I switch over to the bridge pup and back to 5 on the volume for a bit, and back to wide open for a bit. Then I switch to the neck/middle setup with volume at 5 and finally finish the track with that combo wide open. The pups are Fralin Blues Specials in the neck and middle positions, and a Grosh designed DiMarzio humbucker in the bridge.

I continue to regret passing on the chance to buy one of these tone monsters. It is better off in the hands of someone who can actually play a tune versus my feeble attempts to get back into the rhythm. Keep the sound bytes coming. They add fuel to my blues.

Nice clip, great tones and killer licks. The "dry" sound at the begin is not my stuff but all other sounds and are awesome. Thanks for posting.

That's what I tell myself, too. I coulda bought one, but I'd be "hogging" an amp that deserves a better player. It's like giving a kid a Stradivari to learn violin on. jh

It's like giving a kid a Stradivari to learn violin on. You have a point, but it's also true that a lousy instrument is a very discouraging thing for the aspiring musician. A decent instrument will call out to the player, and give both support for the good playing, as well as proper feedback for the bad playing. There's no case of "if only," however. There's nothing like the right tool in the toolbox.

Hohn, that reminds me of something Jason said, and you seconded, in reply to my first venture into Z forum land. I mean when you play a Stingray you better bring it, cause your gonna hear everything... I suspect the SRZ is the same but more so... and louder.
