Got an email from Humbucker Music that my new Maz 8 head (in a custom color config) is on the way to them from the Dr. Already having a Ghia, I'm stoked to get it in. So tell me...what are your favorite settings, tips, etc? ?

I like this setting with a Tele. I plug into the hi input jack and have it in triode mode. Flip to pentode for more gain and body. I use the guitar volume to go from clean to hairy. EQ bypass and guitar volume adjustment as desired.

Don't forget to try it with a Blue and a Gold.

Run your master at least at noon, other than that, rock it!
Those are my two Zs right now, a CG and a Maz 8. Keepers.

Being that this is a single ended class A design the master works a little differently than most amps you've probably used. Most times the master wide open with your gain lower is the cleanest the amp will go.
W the Maz 8 it's better to look at Volume and Gain knobs controls for the Pre-amp and Power-amp sections. They both dial in gain from their respective parts of the amp. Pre-amp gain and Power-amp gain.

Thanks, everyone! I have a Red Fang in my Ghia combo and a Blue in my 1x12 cab, so I'll be giving both a shot.
Thanks for the pre/power tip roscoenyc!

I'm really near doctorice settings, except for the Cut control, which I keep really low (never more than 10:00, more to be under 9:00). The only mode I like as much as I like the triode mode of this amp is... the pentode mode.

With the G12H30 speaker and a Tele or 335, I like mine with these: V 11 T 10:30 M 11 B 10 R 0 C 2 M 12 I've been enjoying my Pentode mode more than the Triode. Both are great; it's like two amps in one. I just seem to gravitate to the pentode side. It's ballsier and clearer...more definition or sumptin... Bottom line...the Maz 8 is a great amp. It's the first Dr. Z amp I bought, and I love it. There's just one problem, and I talked about it in a thread in the Mini-Z section called "They are like potato chips"...once you buy a Z you find yourself wanting more of 'em. I just bought my 4th Z, a Monza.
