I just finished up another tune with the Maz Jr. I just love its crunch. Elsewhere in this forum I had mentioned how I didn't think that the Maz Jr ever got close to my Marshall's sound. Well, I've recently been playing around with the airbrake on the Marshall to push the power section, installed some yellow jackets, recorded the scratch rhythm part on this tune, and then found myself matching the sound pretty closely with the Maz when I did the final tracking. I surprised myself. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this is an all-Maz recording although the non-main lead running through the tune might have been the Marshall. That crunch on the main lead is all Maz. Oh yea, that's Mick Fleetwood playing drums. Nah, he didn't stop over to the house. I used his loops which I found presented a nice consistent set of sounds and beats that were easy to piece together. Enjoy! www.MikeZBand.com/music/Testify.mp3

Wow! I liked that very much - the tones were very cool and the playing fit the music perfectly. Excellent! Oh yeah, give Mick my best...

Yes. Those are my pipes doing the singing. It's amazing what you can do with a PC, some delay, compression, chorus, reverb, and oh yea, the tape simulator to warm it up. I'm glad that I don't have to work as hard on the guitar tone. The Maz takes good care of that for me. Thanks for the positive vibes.
