First post here, and I actually registered on this forum just to pose this suggestion and find out if it's ever been tried or considered.
It seems that the Remedy is a great plexi-style circuit, but why is this only available in head form? Would the amp be more practical as a combo if only the 20W setting were used?
Remedy Jr. - 2-6V6 (20W total) - Same pre-amps - Keep eq bypass - Reduce transformer wattage rating/size/weight - Fit to 1x12 combo (preferably vertically mounted like the Z-Wreck combo or Marshall 1974)
Any thoughts? This seems like such a no-brainer that I can't imagine the Dr. hasn't considered it...

First off welcome.
1. Heads are more Rock N Roll, I'm sure a 3rd party builder could make a cab to those specs (Blues Breaker) 2. The Remedy is already 20 watts or 40 if you need it. 3. Doc uses big iron = big tone

Hey feelthaflo, welcome to the forum--please stay a while if you can. I belive that somebody around here actually has converted their Remedy head to a combo cab. Might need to contact a "custom" cabinet builder such as Mather or even our very own Harvey Reams.. but it can be done.
I think Lefty's onto something from a sense that everyone's already used to Plexi-style amps only being available as a head for the last 40+ years. Myself, I sort of gauge "how heavy is the amp/chassis" to see if I want it in a combo. (I have lots of Z-amps, but the only ones in combo form are the M12 & Monza--both of which are built on the smallest of Doc's chassis.) I'll give you a little hint, too--try the Z-28, it's almost a "Remedy Jr." of sorts. Deceivingly versatile little amp, and it's very Marshally when it's cranked up. That amp IS available in a combo form, too.

It is a good idea but not a lot of demand for them. Most people outside the Forum don't realize how small the Z organization really is. Doc has limited resources and needs to keep the manufacturing end as simple as possible. Much like the car companies, he needs to keep focus on what will sell in numbers large enough to make a profit. Combos typically have a very limited customer base. As noted above, there are a number of cabinet makers, including our own Harvey, that make great aftermarket cabs. I saw a 1x12 Remedy Combo cab that Harvey did for Paul T. That was just killer! I'd rather Doc keep his focus on amps and not cabs.

I put my first non-MV Remedy in a Maz combo cab and it fit perfectly and it was pretty cool, but heavy. Also put it in a Studio size 112 combo cab. Much lighter but felt like it was a lot of amp in a small cab. Like a 427 big block Chevy in a VW Beetle. But I much prefer the head and cab. Perfect with a 112 Z cab or a 212 cab for outdoor gigs.
With the MV I don't think there is a need to redesign the power of the amp...if it ain't broke. It is so versatile as it is!
Welcome to the forum. Hope you can get out and try the Remedy and see what you think.

I like the idea of a Remedy 112 Combo as well, why not? If there was one, I would already have it! Could also do w/out the 40 watt portion...Call it Remedy Jr.
