Yeah, bored with what's going on around here, so I figured some high test wanking might help. All the usual disclaimers apply - this was one take, and yeah, I got ahead of the music at least three times, so sue me. Boredom BluesGrosh Retro Classic VT > RXES > Hot Plate (-12db) > 1xCelestion Alnico Gold RXES had all knobs dimed, overdrive on. This is FULL UP! Another Guitar Center backing track. RXESFullUpBlues.mp3I can see why Joe Walsh likes this amp - you can really get the Tele to sound FAAAAAT!

Nice stuff Steve. Glad to see you join the RxES club . Its a cool amp, huh? This is kind of an odd question, but the tone in this clip reminds me of something I've wondered for a long time. Have you or anyone else noticed that the RxES sounds kind of like the Trainwreck amps of legend? Now, I've never heard one in person, but I've heard clips and I've heard the clones. When you open up the RxES, it has that super complex, singing overdrive that reminds me of the Express or Liverpool.... Just curious....

I don't think I've really heard the Trainwreck stuff, but I agree the RXES has a singing voice when cranked. Very cool amp!

I haven't ever heard a Trainwreck unfortunately but I dig the tone you're getting from the RxES. Continued good luck with it and have fun Steve.

Now I recall seeing those clips before on Youtube. Very cool tone! I think I agree the RXES is similar, but now I have a challenge to see if I can make mine sound just like that. I have a pretty nice 4x12 here that the RXES hasn't had a chance to play through yet (still digging those Alnico Golds too much I guess). I'm going to fiddle with this a bit.

Gut tells me the RxES will love your THD 4x12, and vice versa. I was shocked at how great the RxES sounded with my VHT D412.
Good luck and post some clips of the results! ;D

Thanks Steve. That made my afternoon! Sounds like you're having a blast with the RXES. That does my heart good and I just passed it on. I can't imagine how the good doc or the tech that makes these tone marvels feel! Thanks for sharing!
