I have an RxES 1x12 combo with the original Weber Blue Dog inside. I am trying to round it out a bit - make it a bit more woody/mid-heavy. Would a G12M-65 work well for this application? Has anyone tried it? I don't want to lose that percussive quality, either.

I can tell you that my Therapy with the 1x12 Z cab, open back, sounds great with the G12M65 Creamback. I like that speaker with every amp I've tried it with.

I liked the Creamback with the Rx ES. Really loud, so protect your ears

Not quite the same but I generally use a G12M-65 creamback in a Z 1x12 cab with my Rx Jr and really like it. Have played the cab open and closed and like both configs. Towards Jaguarguy (Mike)'s comment, a tele running though the Rx Jr and a gold sounds even better. The gold really brings out the chime factor in the Rx. I found the creamback to be a good all around speaker for all styles of music and that is why I gig with the creamback.

Thanks, guys! I think I'm going to leave the RxES as it is and maybe getting a second amp for a smoother, less chimey, more saturated sound.

I have one loaded with a Scumback 65 watt M75. Great speaker for this amp. Rounds out and softens the amp a bit.
