OK, I finally finished my testing of the RC and it works exactly as theaxeman said! The cool thing is that you can add a little gain from the RC or bass/treble if you want to liven up the tone. You have to remember that when you reduce the volume you also reduce the amount of air moving and speaker distortion; two things that are only achieved at higher volumes. The tone of the Dote is really awesome so if you love your Dote and want to achieve bedroom levels get an RC Booster or an attenuator AND a lower powered speaker that is made for low wattage but be careful not to give it too much juice. If that sounds like too much hassle and all you want is bedroom levels then maybe you need a low wattage amp like a Swart or a Carr. My Dote will die with me, Good luck!

Is this not the same as placing a volume pedal at the end of your chain, albeit with a much smaller pedal footprint?
