A friend of mine ordered a new Tele from King Bee and after down payment made a few email requests for an estimate on completion of the build.
He received an email finally that was a quite short, bordering on rude. Something to the extent of "you ordered a custom built guitar, not a messaging service"
I've heard a lot of great things about these guitars but was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences dealing with him.
The guitar was ordered in the middle of summer and he's getting a bit worried not having heard anything since then.
Probably everything is fine, but just wanted to check.

weird. I had heard such good things about them/Louis. I hope it's just a misunderstanding. There's no room for more jerks in the world, especially in business.

Was your friend given an eta on the finished guitar when he sent in his down payment? Seems odd that a person would place an order without an e.t.a. on delivery. If his emails were sent after the delivery promise date, the reply from Kingbee sounds rude. on the other hand, the reply sounds like he might have been a bit impatient and hit the "send" button a few too many times. i read on the Kink Bee facebook page a comment saying turn around on custom ordered guitars is 2-3 months.

I think my friend felt he was quite responsive during the sales process but after the down payment was made he was not given an ETA month. So he emailed several times simply asking what month to expect and finally got the abrupt response. He just feels hesitant to contact again now that 3-4 months have gone by.
It will probably work out because the reputation preceedes the guitars.
