I just had to go to this thread... (zzz)I'll give my take when I get mine. I love the Clarksdale but this go from ''it'' and beyond. Just got one. Very active and flexable. Oh yeah! sounds killer.

DC here! I'm not a great fan of OD pedals in general. On my pedalboard I have Paul Cochrane's Timmy pedal. The least bad one I've tried so far - lols ( no offense ) The trouble I have with OD pedlas are basically two things - maybe three 1) They seem som make the soundscape/projection smaller somehow - my imagination perhaps 2) They never seem to have the same dynamics/touch sensitivity as my Route66 3) The overdrive characteristicts seems to muddle up the sound make it in-distinct - resulting in 1) above. In and amp you have the preamp tubes fed at something like 200-250 volts the power tubes are fed with something like 430 up to 700 volts. (it varies of course) On top of these levels you have the swing of the actual signals . I would hazard a guess that in nine volt driven pedal - you cant get the same amount of swing and dynamics you get in a tube amp. Then again I may be wrong - lols Cheers: Dixiechicken!
