Hi,
I was hoping someone could help, is it possible to switch the tremolo and reverb on my Jaz 20/40 head with two separate switches (and two separate cables to the RCA connectors) rather than the Fender style double foot-switch and single cable?
Regards

I haven't tried it, but it should work. After all, it wouldn't make sense for the switches to be interconnected since they operate independently on different parts of the circuit.
In another thread -- was it one of yours? -- Dr Z suggested adding short RCA male-to-female cables to the jacks on the JAZ to make it easier to disconnect the footswitch. Might be handy if you pursue the separate switches approach.

Thanks for that, yes I had seen the post on the RCA extensions and have been using one for the past few months with great success.
I now want to control the reverb and tremolo from a switching midi/true bypass controller which is why I was asking about separate switches. I remember reading somewhere, ages ago, that one of the switches on the Fender style duel footswitches relies on the shield of the other to complete the circuit and so I didn't know whether they had to be wired like that.

Interesting. Still, I'd expect two completely separate switches to work fine. You can always check with the shop (repairs@drzamps.com)

On old Fenders the center pin was the only connection on the RCA plug for the vibrato switch. The switch grounded through the shield/ground for the reverb switch. The JAZ should work fine with two separate switches as long as they are both grounded properly.
