So, I got what I consider to be a great deal on an almost-new Maz 18 NR Combo. I can't wait for it to arrive! I'll definitely post the required pic when it arrives, but I have a question:
The amp will be coming with a G12H30. What do people think of this speaker? I know it's popular, but I've never used one.

That's Dr Z's standard for many of his models with 12" speakers. Doc knows what he's doing. I had one in a MAZ 18 NR and liked it a lot.
Welcome to Z Talk.

Welcome sista ! G12H30 is a pretty common and great sounding speaker, but with my Z's playing with the speaker can tune the amp to your taste it seems, but I think you'll find it compliments the new Music Machine !

I thought I checked 'male', but either my feminine side got the best of me, or I just made a mistake. All is fixed!

Welcome. You've chosen a great amp with which to start. Mine has been with me for ten plus years. It just keeps putting a smile on my face.

Welcome to the forum. If I had to guess probably everyone here has had a Maz series amp at one time. It is pretty much a perfect tonal foundation that easily adjusts to pedals and guitars. But, as you hang around here there seems to be a strange phenomena that happens - you get to antsy waiting for a delivery truck.

Welcome in, new Z brother! The Maz Jr NR is a great "gateway drug" into Z-Land! ^^^ Exactly. Started with a Maz Jr and accumulated a Z28 VERY soon after. You'll see!

Welcome aboard! You'll find quickly that this forum hosts a wealth of information. It's hard to find a question that these forum-goers can't answer or haven't addressed already. And by 'hard' I mean I've yet to have a question related specifically to a Z amp that hasn't been answered here!

Thanks for the warm welcomes, guys. Keep 'em coming, haha! I've always been a Mesa/Fender guy, but I played a Maz about a year ago, and the tone was outstanding. When I saw this deal, I just couldn't pass it up! To be honest, it's so good that I might just flip this combo and turn it into a head. Either way, this amp is going to end my amp hoarding for a while. I've been buying gear like crazy lately, and I've got to tone it down before someone commits me.

Well, it came in yesterday. I absolutely love it. I'll try to get a picture, but it's honestly nothing special - just a red Z combo.

I've already got the G12H30 posted for sale. I've got a Celestion V-Type that I'm going to try next. It's a less efficient speaker, and it has a smoother top end. I think I'll like it, but we'll find out when I try it. Oh, it's also a couple pounds lighter due to having a smaller magnet.

Okay, the V-Type was a great idea. The cut knob is usable now, plus I can turn up the master a bit more due to the difference in efficiency. Celestion nailed this one.
