Got a black head with a red 1-12 convertible. What a sweet amp!

If you think it's sweet now, what until you've really delve into it. Probably my favorite.

I will have my first gig with it tomorrow night. Should be a lot of fun. I got this amp for some country picking on a Tele. I was blown away though by the bluesy tone from the neck pup. I have an AirBrake so I should be able to keep it from blowing off any faces.

Congrats on your score.
I'm about to join the Rx ES crew. I've never played any of the Rx series, but I'm sure I will like it a lot. More to come.
Added: Traumatized (Eric) delivered it today. Sounds great. Love the power that's on tap.

First gig with the amp and I am very satisfied with the tone. The amp responded very well with pick attack and volume changes. In addition I was able to dial in my sound and still keep the overall volume in check with the Airbrake. Especially important because this band has a drummer with an electronic kit and stage volume is low.

What settings did you use?
In my to-date brief time with the amp, it seems to have a lot of range.

I used
1/3 on volume and bass 1/4 on treble and midrange
It does have a lot of tone and drive range. This worked for me for my clean tones. I used a paisley drive for some of the songs that have some overdrive in them.

My Airbrake has a Trainwreck logo on it. After reading that paper and seeing that Ken said that a power soak would eat up output tubes and a transformer; I think the Airbrake must have been his take on how to avoid damage.

I played a classic rock gig using a parts-caster with some older alnico EMGs. I plugged into the left jack (Lo). I put it on overdose with the volume about 11:00, Bass at 10:00, Treble and Mids at 9:30. I used the Airbrake with the bedroom setting and put the bedroom knob on the minimal reduction (all the way clockwise). I was able to use my guitar volume to change from clean with just a bit of hair to a bluesy soulful singing tone. The sweet spot allowed me to just use my volume for overdrive changes without getting too loud or soft. I think I must have dialed it in so that the power tubes just started to compress nicely.
My son was running sound for us and I traded places with him so that he could jam with the band on a few blues tunes. From out front, the tone was amazing. Had character, definition, sparkle and chime without any hint of harshness. I used a Sennheiser e906 on the 1-12 convertible cab.
Loving this amp. David
