I was at my dealer yesterday and i noticed they had the MXR Micro Amp + in the display case. I already have the Micro Amp. so may as well buy the new & improved pedal, right ! I haven't even tried it yet but it looks great. Then, today i was browsing the local classifieds and a local deal popped up on a minty custom-coloiued Diamond comp. I already have a Keeley, but this deal was just too good to pass up. So, I emailed the guy and send payment and I'll pick it up tomorrow. I love the cosmetics on this one...and you can't go wrong with the Diamond comp, right

Sweet! I've been eyeing a Flint lately...I'm sure it's only a question of when it will happen and not if it will happen ! Those Strymon cats seem to have their act together. Keith

I own a Flint and an El Cap; That Deco looks quite nice as well! What are your initial impressions of the Deco?

^^^^I've not yet received either of them Scott. The Flint should be here tomorrow, and Humbucker Music said they'd prolly have the Deco's in today....hopefully will have 'em both on the board later this week....

Hi maddog; Understood - Let us know your thoughts after you've spent some time with 'em!
I know you'll love the Flint. I absolutely love all setting on the trem and have been using the verb in an (I think) unusual way; that is, I leave the reverb on my MAZ cracked open as usual and add the Flint's plate reverb on top for a couple of numbers to get really "deep"; stuff like "Wind Cries Mary" and the like...

Agreed - pedal acquisition syndrome can get out of control...
I just made a trip to Nashville over the summer for some stuff and I stopped at my favorite pedal store, Rock Block, and almost bought them out of overdrives. Kidding, of course but I always buy a few every time I'm in town. I'm an OD nut... For me most of my sound is Guitar > Dirtbox > Echo > Amp and so I love going to a big store with boutique pedals and spending an hour trying out a dozen of them or so and picking the best 4 to come home with me! I love Chicago Music Exchange in Chicago as well, another great place closer to me (I'm in Illinois) with a decent amount of boutique pedals.

I think we are all just getting ready for winter and hibernation... Animals are loading up on carbs and fattening up for the winter just to make it through until spring. We are no different as we gather new music gear to carry us through the harsh winter ahead... It's in our nature...

I had one of those (more expensive) "ah, WTF" moments over the weekend and picked up a used TS808HW. A little pricey, but totally (tonally?) worth it - man does that thing uh... scream... when pumped through the Ray!

Keith, I had a FB-2...was nice but I found it added a lot of mid range. How's this one? I haven't tried it yet But I did listen to a couple demos and it seems to be the same, especially when the drive is turned up. That's the part I seem to like about it! Hoping to try it out tonight.....if I get a chance. I'm eager to try it with my Route 66 and Remedy more than any other amps. I think the big change in the v3 is the ability to taper the bass/treble with micro trim pots.

It makes sense I suppose...to get a bit of mid range boost to cut through. If I recall, FB-2 had the tone controls as well.
