Where do you set your Remedy's controls when you're using it as a clean pedal platform?
I'm getting all of my dirt from pedals (with a ZVex Distortron on all the time as my foundation, and I hit it with other drives as needed). I felt that I could not raise the High volume above 9 o'clock, otherwise I found the sound too shrill. I wasn't sure where best to set the Normal volume. I had it above noon for much of our band practice and felt that the sound was too bassy. I'm trying to find a sound that will give a big, rich sound but with tighter bass.

Mine is a master volume model. I typically run bass about 11 mid around 12, treble around 11 or 12 depending on the guitar. I run the high volume about 12 to 1 and the low about 11 or 12. I adjust the master volume accordingly. I also run an NOS 5751 in V1 which gives a little more clean headroom over the stock 12AX7. Speaker cabinet, speaker and guitar will make a big change as will pedals. I use mostly a Creamback 1-12 open back or a Z Best with a Greenback and and old V30. I play a LP most of the time but some songs switch off to a Tele style guitar.
You might be hitting the front end with too much pedal distortion and oversaturating the preamp tubes. Maybe back off the pedals and try a little more amp overdrive.

Here's what I do:
Set the high (bright) volume first....set it so the amp is the loudness you want. Then slowly bring the normal volume up so it gives you the bass you want.
It may take some time to fiddle with this process when you incorporate the bass tone control.
