I'd never heard of them before I did a search and found the Flint Reverb\Trem pedal. Looked like a cool unit. Anyone here used it?

I own the El Capistan which emulates tape delay, and it's a great pedal, built like a tank, and sounds great. They make cool stuff indeed. Can't wait to check this one!

How cool, what'll they think of next? And yes, the Flint is awesome! Really nice to always have those two effects on a pedal board, no matter which amp you're playing. Very impressive effects.

I just saw the vids on that pedal and am feeling the GAS growing! Ha!
In response to the question about the Flint, I can only echo what others have already said. It's an awesome pedal.

I haven't really seen a pedal recently that has given me GAS... until now! I love the saturation on that!

I have been saving my empties since I saw the video; I have been after that sound for a very long time. I bet it sounds unbelievable with the EZG 50! I will love it long time...

Strymon, for me, has been a mixed bag.
I believe they are an extremely smart and talented company, with clearly thought out ideas that are well implemented. -EHX should take a look at Strymon for getting the last 10% of the design/implementation equation right, but I digress. For example, the El Capistan is one of the only digital delays I've ever owned that didn't ruin my dry sound and had lush, dark repeats that sound good on nearly any setting.
On the other hand, the Mobius and Flint, which both have some great sounds, don't play well with drive pedals (in certain settings) and in my opinion, can sound somewhat "digital." Particularly the uni-vibe settings on the Mobius and harmonic trem on the Flint, when hit hard with gain.
So the new Deco...hmmm...
I love actual tape machines- I'm still rocking a 1" 16 track and 1/4" 2-track at my home studio. The Deco demos are great sounding and I'd love to try one out. I imagine that I can cover most of the sounds I would want from it with my F*ck Overdrive and Fulltone TTE though. I mean that's saturation and delay with lots of options right there.
Time will tell, as I'm certain my local dealer will have one soon. I do concede that guys who only want to have 2 or 3 pedals on their board could grab a Timmy, Deco and Blue Sky (for example) and be good to go. That's pretty cool. We shall see!

I love the thought of that saturation and the slapback together. I have a hard time coughing up the $300 for the pedal and hoping those two tricks are easy to master and use live b/c IME w a Blue Sky there was depth (not just the reverb) option-wise with that pedal that made it somewhat difficult to use on a live gig. For a studio gig I'm sure it's the bees knees but live when you want a few different sounds kneeling and tweaking isn't something I welcome or embrace. set it and forget it or don't use it at all is how I tend to run my rig. As an aside, our band was in the studio the other day and I asked the 20 something engineer if he had ever worked with 2 inch tape before b/c I had learned on a Studer reel to reel back in college. He said he'd "seen it once" and had no idea why I felt this pedal was a cool novel tool for a guitarist's board. damn I feel old. Guess I'll preorder one to feel better about myself....

I went for the pre-order (#47501). Should ship any day.
I too love the saturation on the repeats. I also find myself really digging experimentation with very short delay times across slapback, flange, even ring mod. I really think the Deco could nail this stuff for me. It sure seems to have some serious Abbey Road and Electric Lady mojo in its digital DNA.

Indecent at any volume; Strymon seem to have done it again. This pedal worries me more than any of their previous releases, and that's saying a lot. Now I have to rationalise why I shouldn't buy this...right here goes i) too many knobs will lead to anxiety options, and I'll end up playing the pedal not the guitar ii) impossible to change on the fly live iii) the price here in the UK will necessitate me selling an internal organ. Do I believe any of this? Yes actually I do, but I still think this is the best this company have produced in that hi fi/lo fi area of pedal design in which they excel. Bastards, one is tempted to say.

Too much wine with/after dinner last night + wife going to bed early = Strymon Deco pre-order.
Oops, I did it again.

I am so tempted I have a vision of this Strymon-dominated board with this, the El Cap (redundant?), Mobius and Flint. Hmm, one board for these and another for boosts and ODs?

I'll let you know about the El Cap/Deco situation. I have the El Cap now, and really like it. I only have room for one of the two on the board at any time. Or, I could run both, but then the Blue Sky has to go. Decisions...

I've been using a Mr Springy for reverb... I was lucky to get a small non buffered unit when they made them briefly. It adds just a hair of drive... Then picked up a boss trem... It's just ok. Tomorrow I have a Flint coming. The band is on a break, so I have time to try it out (along with a java boost and a keeley two nob compressor. I may need to jump from the PT jr to a PD1 to make some room.

My Deco shipped yesterday! They have added a couple improvements:
Since we released Deco, we've discovered that there is more interest in studio usage than we had originally anticipated. We want to provide the best possible experience for those who may be using Deco in studio environments, and in setups where a hot input signal is present (synth, very hot effects loop, etc). Given that, we have implemented a new selectable Studio Mode power-up option, which specifically tailors the Tape Saturation range for those applications.
Additionally, to better accommodate players with low output guitar pickups and light playing style, we have extended the range of overdriven saturation at the tail end of the Saturation knob.

Good to know that! I'm seriously tempted to get one, but this year I'm done with buying gear.. Next year, who knows?.. Keep us updated with your Deco!
