Hello...have a new Therapy on the way and was wondering which speakers in a 2x12 cab. Also, closed or open back?I currently have a Marshall 2061 closedback with 2 greenbacks. Not sure if that will do the amp justice..Any info appreciated.

You'll enjoy with which ever you choose. Got mine last week from Humbucker, wife and kids are out of town and having a blast. I have been playing z 1x12 with a creamback, open back. I do have a zbest with a creamback and gh12 but haven't tried it yet.

Nice! I have not run it 2x12 yet but the V30 and the gold are my current fav's.

HUGE congrats! The best amp I've played ever! Take your time with what you've got before changing anything........... really. There is no "sweetespot" on this amp; there are MANY of them, and it is surprisingly adaptable. Work your settings, work your guitar; work your MV / V balance. Only then, if there's a specific tone you can't get from your Greenbacks, change them.

Congrats on the inbound. Look forward to hearing more when it arrives.
I agree with Pete: use the cab you've got as you get to know what the amp can do.

Congrats and welcome to the club! I've put mine through four different Z cabs with 4 different speakers and it sounds great through them all. Looking forward to hearing your review!

I will echo whats already been said, This is the greatest amp I have ever played! I agree spend some time with what you already have before you start changing speakers. I have tried both a Celestion Gold and a Creamback through a 1X12 with great results for what its worth?

This is what I have tried so far . . .
2x12 loaded with GH12-65's 1x12 with a Cream back 1x12 with a Greenback 2x12 with V30's 1x10 with a Redcoat Ramrod
Sounded great with all of them. Smooth OD, nice thump when want it, cleans were nice and fat . . .
Each speaker makes it contribution to the tone.

The Therapy session has begun! First thoughts are how different it sounds from all other Z amps. Very Tweedy, but can get into other Fender Clean territory as well. The EQ really works and can change the character of the amp into many different amps. The volume is very workable, in that the tone remains the same at lower volumes but can easily get you thrown out of a gig! I've only been using speakers that I currently have, G12H30[allright ,breakup brittle], Greenback[have to really tweak mids with this speaker to sound good],Badcat V30[sounded best so far] EV12L tonight. With the limited time Ive had, I dig it and can tell it will be very versatile. Loves all my pedals too. Have only used my Tele, but will hit my studio tonight and try a Junior and 335.I do need to find the "right" speakers for it and judging by how the Badcat V30 sounded am leaning toward the Celestion V30.More later!!

Yes, the Doc prefers the V30 too........ maybe I'll try one of those as I have the Mid maxed with my G12 65

Just got done playin' for 2 hours with the EV, closed back and open and it sounds killer! This speaker is from 1980 and is nicely worn in. It brings out every nuance in the guitar, cab and amp. I noticed one little twist of the EQ knobs and it changes the entire tonal character. Its like 50 amps in one all rooted in the tweed camp.I guess Sybil would be a good name for it, but I think Therapy fits as with all these tones/choices I'm gonna need some soon! I think the EV is the one for a while!
