Anyone any experience of this speaker? I am looking to replace the G12M70 in my JCM800 4210 combo. Tried my Gold in it but not my cup of tea. I need something more like a Greenback so a G12M 65 creamback looks an obvious choice but an old G12 80 is available at half the price of the creamback. Any other recommendations gladly received but as its a 1x12 combo needs to handle the 50 watts.

I have one that I have used in various cabs and combos. Actually had two but one went with an amp. It has more scoop than a greenback. Not as much as an H though. The lows are real tight and the highs are strong but not spikey. Mids are fine in an amp with some mids like a Marshall, maybe not in something like a Twin. It is also a louder speaker than a greenback. It doesn't have the mids of a creamback either. I've actually a/bd it against a G12M70 and I can say it will definitely sound a ton better than it. Lots more of everything than it. It will fatten up things in an open back and sounds nice and tight in a closed back. I used the 12-80 in a Marshall JTM 60 for a while and it sounded wonderful. That's the amp my other one went with. I was going to put the original speaker back in it when I sold it but the guy heard the 80 in it and didn't want the original. I liked the original in another of my amps so all was well. It is kind of like a g12-65 but louder with a little more lows and highs. Hope that helps.
