DAYUM! I played it for about 6 hours today and tonight (band prax), and I am nowhere near figuring it out. Just when I think I have milked the best killer tone from the Therapy, I twist some knob or step on some box and I go off in another golden direction....
Unlike most of you who started with a tele, I started with a double bucker guitar. Man is the V knob on the amp IMPORTANT when yer playing buckers....You can go from sparkling clean to mud with half a twist regardless where the amp's Bass knob is set.....
The amp is incredibly sensitive (a great thing).....It's gonna take me a while; But so far, I really dig it! More later...gonna be a fun weekend!!!!
OBTW, Huh???

Leon Valley, TX, United States 09/11/2014 5:57 A.M. Out For Delivery 09/11/2014 4:31 A.M. Arrival Scan
And I have rehearsal tonite as well....Gonna be a fun night, eh??? No kiddin'! What are the odds?! I'ts a brother thing, right? I can't wait to hear what you think Lee.
So, I've been sittin' on the fence, lurkin' around wondering if I should be jumpin' on the who Therapy Merry-go-round until finally, after reading Pete's gig report I finally gave in; and holy-sheep-shyte-batman!
Who's got two thumbs and is thrilled to take the leap?....THIS guy!
It's like the old pancake commercial: ".....Aunt Jemima, what took you so long?"
This amp is a beautiful thing, so responsive, so articulate, so clear yet so....NASTY!
Started out with my Rory Strat and I just don't know what to tell ya...kinda brought me to tears. But then I plugged in my Road Worn Deluxe Tele with a pair of Lollar's.... STOP THE FRIGGIN'N PRESSES. We're talkin' Medieval Fire Breathing Dragon for Cryin' Out Loud. Has to be heard to believe. My Les Paul with Wolfetone Legends sounded clean and sweet through hairy bluesey to ZZ-Top raunch...Sweet.
Like many have said this amp pretty much put's your pedals in the drawer.
I'm used to stompin' on more than one overdrive and/or distortion box to get close to the tone I want for any given tune. With this thing I just use the volume control.
What's that you say? No tap dancing across the field of nippled chrome? Nope a flick of the wrist does it at least 90% of the time.
So far at practice I used my MK 4.31 on a couple of tunes and my Velvet Fuzz for 'ta-nother but other than that, a flick of the wrist on the guitar volume got me where the pedals never took me: just where I needed to be.
My bandmates were visibly stunned and agreed with me that my guitar never sounded so good. I was told to mark every setting so as to be able to reproduce the sound I had tonight (right, like I needed to be told that).
I set the guitar volume somewhere around 5 or 6 and adjusted amp volume for just a little break up; from there a touch down and beautiful clean and up from 7 to 10, just steady increasing juiciness and sustain...makes a feller' wish the guitar volume went to 11! Oh yes, and even had great sustain at lower volume setting.
I don't know how the heck Doc does it but there's magic in that man I tell ya...magic!
I tried it with a: 2x12 EV & Gold: Nice 1x12 G12-65: Yes, Yes
2xV30 on loan from Todd: Double Yes, Yes. (Thanks brother Todd, I promise to give it back to you...some day. Had a great time at lunch as well). Stock Z-Best: Hold the presses! Stop Right There! This is the baby. This cab just had it all.
OK, so most of you know, one amp is just not enough for me. I'm a tri-amp gigger (no comments please) I'm not proud of that but, hey I got 'em and can still schlep 'em around so I'm-a-gonna-use 'em. (doesn't make me a bad person does it?).
So the combo I had been running was: Antidote w/Z-Best EZG (used to be my fav, but I don't know now) w/2xG12-65 Maz Jr w/G12H30 & C-Blue
The combo I NOW have (and forever will have) running is: Therapy w/Z-Best EZG-50 (Did I mention this used to be my fav?) w/2xG12-65 Remedy w/2x12 Greenbacks
This combo is absolutely GLORIOUS. Yes Lord you can take me now, OK well not JUST yet...
Oh yes, settings. Here is what I ended up with but will likely end up boosting the mid's a tad more (surprised the bejeezes out of me).
End of report. Sorry for rambling...
Oops, one more thing: Yes Dan, I somehow found room for this baby.

Brother Steve, happy to take the blame Crikey though, I want to play at your gigs!!! You get to gig at those volumes with an EZG50 AND a Remedy at the same time?? Say WHAT?? Have to say, my V is set just about there to - and the way it interacts with your GV is UNCANNY! Start messing with that Mid knob as well - very dynamic control. Lee, keep at it brother. I think of this amp as a yacht vs a motor cruiser - the pleasure is in the journey, not the destination! There is no final sweet spot that says you have it "dialled in", there's just the continual journey into new and wonderful sonic landscapes. Sure, we may stop a while to enjoy the view, but there's plenty more to be heard if we keep moving! I'm waiting for Eric (roscoe) to get his hands on one of these - the Mighty Guitar Volume Maestro!

This made me laugh out loud ... somehow it's sounds like a sad "Didn't get to go to Burning Man" statement. As they say over on TGP definitely sig worthy.
Congrats on the amp, I'm glad to know you're a tri amp user because I was feeling guilty with using 2. What switching system do you use?

Actually I'm not utilizing a switching system as all three amps are always on and singing at the same time. Pretty simple really. Using some true stereo pedals with L/R inputs and outputs.
The signal get split by routing the Left channel output to one set of effects and the Right channel output of the same pedal to another chain of effects.
The board I built has two outputs so one output goes directly to one amp and the other board output goes to a Lehle P-Split A/B/Y box. The A channel output goes to one amp and the B channel output goes to another.
It results in a great sonic pallet and the stereo modulation and delay effects sound very nice.
Here's a look at my board and basic block schematic of how it's hooked up. It's not the latest version as I do not have a current pic or diagram (amps have changed and pedals have come new to the game while others have been booted to the standby drawer) but its an accurate representation.
I also use Clearsonic amp shields on each speaker to keep the stage-level volume down and to keep from pinnin' the ears back of the peep's close to the stage.
Cheers! Steve

Great report Steve. Confirms many of my suspicions!
I was not able to experiment with the Therapy as much as you because we have a major gig closing in, and were re-working the set list and learning some new songs....
I only have to work this morning and then I'm off until Monday, so I hope to try some different speaker combinations, guitars, and techniques (GV, esp). My fingers still hurt from my "all afternoon/night" Therapy sebatical, and my tinnitus is talkin' to me....but I really am looking fwd to mining more gold from this baby! More later!!!
PS: Yer pedal board is SICK, Brother!

Nice set list! I'm gonna swipe that... Playing in my studio with Charlene, my therapist - she tells me I need to develop my own set list even if I don't play out. Good idea. BTW, Charlene has the smoothest, sexiest voice...
