I contacted Peter Mather about a combo for my Therapy. I ordered one in black tolex with black and tan grill cloth with tan piping. It will be the studio style with a slant front. Unfortunately he said he just started 2 large cab orders and it might be as long as 15 weeks out I'll have to order a nice wooden Z from Harvey for the front

Sorry...I may be confused...
Won't the faceplate be upside down, or is this going to be similar to the Z-Wreck combo where the tubes are sideways?

The dimensions will be the same as the Z convertable 1X12 cabinet except the bottom will be 1" deeper for a reference.

Did you suggest the size or did Mather? Why the extra depth?

Im confused...studio cab,or regular size cab? It will have a slant front LIKE the studio cab but, the same size as a Z 1X12 convertible speaker cab. The size of the chassis dictated the size of the cabinet! The bottom of the cab will be 11" deep the top will be 10" deep. The face of the Therapy will be on the top of the cabinet in the rear, exactly like the ZWreck Combo. There will be a vent on the top of the cab. The cab will be made of pine with dovetail corner joints. I hope this clears up the confusion? I should never have used "Studio Cab" in my description! MyBad........................

So are you sending him your Therapy chassis? Or just detailed measurements? I guess you also realize the logo and control graphics will be toward the rear, instead of toward the front like the Doc changed to on the Z Wreck combo. But that's how all the top loaded Vox amps were anyway. Can't wait to hear, see and hear about your Mather project. I am hoping the Doc will come out with a light weight combo version of this amp in the next year or two. .....DRZ!!! I'll buy one of those to go with my Therapy head!

I sent detailed measurements yesterday. Yeah, not to concerned about the control and logo graphics. Were suppose to dial it in with our ears right? I'm hoping this combo will be light weight? I'm hoping some where near the same weight as Lee's Bassman project?!? Peter gave me a date of December 12th

This makes me want to buy a used Wreck head and have one of these cabs made for it in the same cosmetics as a Hot Rod Deville...just to be funny

Thanks for the cab specs, djcakadave.
I personally think the control panel will look "right" how you'll have it. As MarkT stated, many classic combo amps panels are read from behind that amp. I got used to that a long time ago, which worked great because I typically face the cab away from me on stage to reduce the stage volume. Makes it easy to dial in from behind the amp (where I normally am). I guess I don't love that the Z-Wreck combo is opposite, but..hey...its just an opinion and you can never please everyone (myself included...often). Also, if Doc did the combo option primarily for Brad then it all makes sense (he faces his amps toward him...which he can get away with). No surprise why he designed it that way if thats the case!
I think the Therapy will come out great! Sorry its a lengthy wait, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I had one ordered as soon as the Therapy came out. But I canceled it because I aquired the Wreck combo. I told him I wanted the Wreck combo cosmetics but it needed to fit the Therapy chassis (same as Maz BTW). He said that was no problem. I was going with 1/2" birch ply.
The studio cab style is cool though, I liked it with my maz 8. Peter is great to deal with. Great guy, and top quality cabs. I think you'll like it.

I'm really interested in this one too. The weight is the thing that I'm worried about though, 'cause I've got a baaaad back. Can't wait to see the results...
