Just put a couple of Tung Sol 5881's in my EZG as the old Winged C's were loosing their mojo.
Biased at 36ma and 37ma, or maybe 37ma/38ma (hey I'm old and lucky if I can remember what I had for dinner last night) with about 400 Volts on the plates.
So far so good; really seemed to tighten up the bass (always welcome in this amp) and the high's are very clear.
These tubes break up earlier as well...nice.
Also swapped out the 12AT7's in the reverb circuit as the 'verb was misbehaving. Popped in a couple of NOS Mullard CV4024's I had laying around and all is waaay more than well.
Pretty good stuff so far; we shall see a band practice Tues and at our Saturday gig when I gotta cut through the madness.

Where is the gig Saturday night? It's at Freddy's Todd. Hey, can I get those screens this week (but you can't have that 2xV30 cab back; it ROCKS!)
