Is the Bass response supposed to be weak? Mine is barely noticable. The treble and mid control works well. I just got Ghia and compared to it Maz 8 has much less bass..
thanks for help

I'm not sure I'd call it "weak", but on the MAZ 8 I end up liking the bass knob much higher than where it would be on my MAZ 18. For one, my 8 has a Cel Blue, and the 18 is a 2x10. The Blue is, I think, known to be less tight and pronounced at low frequencies.
Fwiw, I was just playing a Tele through it with these settings:
V 2 (o'clock) T 12 Mid 11 B 2:30 Reverb 9 Cut 11 Master 2:30
Hi input and triode mode with a Brake Lite. I have the guitar volume and tone at about 70% of full on as a baseline setting and go up or down on those knobs to suit the tune.

I found it to have plenty for my needs. I think that's just the nature of the beast - an 8 watt amp (single el84) compared to an 18 watt amp (two el84). Don't be afraid to crank the bass knob if you need to. One thing that can help is to find a good bass heavy, stout speaker. I wanted to try a bass cone speaker (55 hz) in my 8 but never did. I think the 55hz reaper from WGS would fit nicely.
Or if you like alnico speakers try one of these - WGS Blackhawk, Blackhawk HP, Celestion Gold.

I have the cel blue also & mine current sits at 2:30 as Mike suggested. I have it on lo-fi settings from the other night.

Are you asking about the taper on the bass control? As in - the Treble and Mid seem to do a lot but the Bass doesn't seem to effect the tone as much as the other two do?
That's how I interpreted your question.
