Another forum member offered this up as trade for my Ghia and I thought "why not?" It's the white MIM model w Calaham saddles and a Powertron in the bridge. I've never played filtertron style pickups before, definitely a departure from the norm for me. And as cool as this guitar is I can't help but wonder if a tele bridge pickup would fit in that hole?

Congrats - I would give it a little time as is first, should sound great IMHO. I have white one that's totally stock and I love it. Really solid guitar with nice neck.

How do you feel about not having a tone knob? Are you sure those aren't your American Girl boxes in your Man Cave?

I think I would of liked one. They do have a concentric volume/tone knob.

Very cool, Ronnie! Totally LOVE the whole package! (I never could even get in my daughters room for all the crap on the floor....I'd say, "Ali clean up this mess," she'd say, "Dad, I just did!")

Spent some more time with the guitar this morning. I also added a treble bleed to the volume knob, this helped quite a bit. Man it would get dark real quick without it and I use my volume knob a lot, although it does still darken up a bit until you get a little further down, then it brightens back up some. I havent ran it through my pedalboard yet, that might make things better(or worse). Only time and a few gigs will tell if this will be a guitar I can play a whole gig with. Tone knob? I love the "look" without it, but I wish it had one...I can probably get by without it though. American girl doll boxes? Uh, doesnt everyone have 5-6 of those laying around? It was late when I took that pic...I wouldnt have posted it if I had realized how messy it looked Another observation...I grew up on country music so I was much older before I figured out who ZZ Top, SRV and many other great rock/blues guitarists were...so I'm late in learning a lot of things that most of you guys have known for years. Lately I've been listening to a lot of ZZ and it just hit me today that "Fool For Your Stockings" sure sounds a lot like a Filtertron style neck pickup...that slanky clean sound, its in this Cabronita Tele if you cam keep the amp from overdriving

I wouldnt have posted it if I had realized how messy it looked Brother talk about messy ... you should see my mind If'n I had a single knober I'd do the concentric volume/tone knob thing, because I really do like the look of one knob but I use the tone knob a lot. It's a sweet ride and if you decide to put a tone knob on it those concentric jobbies will fit fine I think. My daughter is like 2 1/2 so I'm just looking forward to that in the future. Thanks for the warning Man I've learned a lot recently too, but I was stuck in the indie/grunge rock thing. No one was talking about tone, just F the man. Well that only gets you part of the sound and a lot of trouble. Now I talk tone and play nice with the man, because after all - We all A MAN !

GAS for an El Cabron con concentric uno knob, equal love of tone and NOISE, and fitting it all in on Toddler Time LOL

You probably have some pretty valuable stuff in those bedrooms...might want to check ebay for those old dolls next time you need to fund a Z purchase

American Girl dolls- the boutique equivalent of dolls to our amps. I'm glad only my youngest is still into dolls and has one. They are mighty pricey for toys.....Same could be said of our gear I reckon.
The guitar is hot though. Congrats on the new addition.

Guys I gotta say...I traded for this guitar in a whim, thinking it would be something I would play a song or two on it but not necessarily be a "keeper"...I've played 2 sets on it so far and I plan on finishing the night w it...man I really like this! It's a darker overall tone than I'm accustomed to but something about it just works...very cool. I've been thinking if I keep I might go ahead and change the pups out for TV Jones Magnatrons...currently it has a Powertron in the bridge, stock pup in the neck.
