I have a EZG 50 and have a set of TAD 6L6WGC-STR tubes. Should they be biased to the same 35ma as the Groove Tubes 6L6 as mentioned on the Dr Z bias notes section of the website?

So I measured the plate voltage with the TAD 6L6 tubes and got 462 volts. I plugged that into an online bias calculator and it said I needed to be at 33.8 ma for 60% dissapation so I set the bias to 33.8 and let it settle in. The amp sounds great. It was my first time actually measuring the plate voltage and then finding the correct bias current. I have an electronics background somewhat so I know about safety and Ohms law and components. In the past I have always gone off what the spec was for the particular tube. Does this sound correct?

Sounds fine. There is a lot of leeway regarding the setting of power tube bias. I usually set 6L6's a little hotter if tube rectified; somewhere between 70% and 75%. For Twin Reverbs and other similar amps with SS diodes I tend to like them a little colder. Also, I think most manufacturers bias their amps a little cold to help with reliability. If they aren't near the point where they are in danger of red-plating and they sound good to you then you are set.
