Just curious what's out there--anyone tried the Celestion A Type? Anybody got a WGS they think might pair well with the Therapy? Hemp? Other thoughts? I like Doc's 4x10 with the Therapy a lot, and am interested in a 12" equivalent.

I think any hemp cone speaker will be pretty dark. I had a Cannabis Rex and it was super dark...almost had to dime the treble (with the bright switch on) on my Blues Deluxe with it.

I have a Tone Tubby here that was real natural until it broke in and then it got a bit on the dark side. I haven't used it in quite a long time...

I also felt the cannabis Rex to be a darker speaker. Had it in a 1x12 convertible cab. Too dark to my ear with both Ghia and Maz Jr. Replaced it with a creamback for the lower dab as well. I'd be willing to sell the C-Rex. It saw very little action. A few church sessions.

Hemp can definitely be darker. But it's almost the exact opposite until the speaker breaks in. Hemp is stiffer and more durable so the break-in process takes a little longer as well. Personally, I'd look into the WGS Blackhawk HP. I could see it being a great speaker for the Therapy. www.wgs4.com/BHHPSent from my Galaxy S4 using Proboards

I like the suggestions of either WGS Blackhawk HP (the 100 W one, it's different from the 50 & 15 W ones) or a Tone Tubby. On the TT, go with AlNiCo if you like it "loose" or ceramic if you like it "tight" feeling.

Celestion G12-65 heritage has worked really well for me with brighter amps. Still nice and clear but with the icepick rolled off.

Have a friend who feels Weber spkrs are darker than most. I sold a TT red BC it was dark and while it did sound good it was also ridiculously efficient @103db. Loud one.

I love my Tone Tubby with the Z28. It's got the highs covered but with a little less sparkle in that upper range. Sort of like the highs have a matte finish instead of a glossy finish. The alnico version with have a bit more sparkle and less bass punch - the ceramic (like mine) has a bit softer high end with substantial bass punch. It's a very good all around speaker and quite durable.
If you're using Z brand 10's and like them then you like a big midrange hump. That's not the Tone Tubby at all - it's more evenly balanced. Try a Celestion V30.

The WGS ET-65 works very well with my Remedy...a somewhat warmer-but-not-too-dark speaker, especially after it breaks in.
