Hello all, I have what's probably a stupid question. I know that you should re-bias when you change output tubes. Unless the amp is cathode-biased, then it's not needed.
However, is there any need to re-bias an amp when you swap preamp tubes? Or will different preamp tubes affect the output section as well, and need biasing?
Thanks, Brad

my understanding is preamp - no. Output - yes. Rectifier - sometimes. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Johnny. That's what I was thinking.

Preamp tubes are swap and go ... no adjustment of any type is needed in any of the Z amps or most other amps for that matter.
