What's up Z-faithful,
I just noticed tonight that both of the power tubes in the JR have developed microphonics. They're about 8 months old, but have been gigged regularly, so maybe it's just time.
Anyway, the last pair (EHX) that I bought was from "Tube Depot", which is decent. However, I noticed that other retailers describe duets of these tubes as being soft, medium, or hard. Does the high plate voltage of the Maz yield better reliability with one of these ratings?
Thanks,
Josh

Josh . whenever I get tubes from someone offering varying grades , I always go for the middle. I feel the low and high offerings are out-of-spec tubes and vary from design specifications. Just my 2 cents.

middle is best and usually shipped with...when buying from the depot you have to specify what "amp" so they can give proper plate voltage rating s/m/h...otherwise they just throw arbitrary rating at you

Got new ones from tube depot with a bias point of "29". Sounds great, as usual.
