I hope this sounds something like a smaller more petite girl cousin to my KT-45, she is a big girl Finally got my Z28 combo sounding great as well so my gas is at bay for a bit anyway? Unless someone has a 1x12 to sell (lol)

Oh man! smiles all over..that is a sweet amp. I am using a Z Best 2x12 cab and it sounds really good. Possibly the best sounding amp I have ever played.

Nice...tell me more. Let's talk about something besides the Therapy I've been getting hooked on the Monza lately but have always been curious about the M12.

The M12 in my opinion is Dr.Z's most modest amp. It's the main ingredient, nothing added. I was searching for the KT-45's little sister and I found her and fell in love immediately. Through a Z-Best 2x12 the M12 sounds really nice, not quite as big sounding as the KT-45 but very similar, well balanced and fairly bright, which I really like. It works really well with the Z-Verb and makes a great "Malibu" type amp for surf music, where the KT-45 is more like "Pipeline" and the EZG-50 is definitely "Mavericks" (lol). Also excellent for Alt.Country, Folk Rock, etc all the things I like to play.
My other amp (besides the KT-45 and now the M12) is the Z28. The Z28 is more like the moody cousin who sneaks a cigarette at family gatherings...lots of character and attitude but still polite when she wants to be.
I don't think the M12 will ever take the place of the Z28 for Classic Rock and Roll or Blues but if I didn't have the Z28 it would work fine. The Z28 in my opinion does not work as well with the Z-Verb as the other two, there is too much going on there and it tends to muddy up a bit with reverb whereas the M12 and KT-45 seem to breathe with a bit of Verb.
The M12 takes pedals really well and is quite a bit louder than I expected it to be. Breakup comes late and is just excellent sounding. This amp shines at all levels but crank it all the way up and it just gets better and better.

The M12 is a chameleon. It can be polite and it can be rude. It can go smooth jazz or it can kick a$$. It can play country, Christian, fusion, ska, raegae and everything in between.
How? Because doc designed it that way. You can put nearly any kind of pedal in front of it and it simply gets the best out of the pedal. Put a great speaker in a great cab that matches your style and you will have a rig that can do just about anything. Maybe metal is the only exception...
Anyway, the M12 isn't just one thing. It's anything you want it to be.

My buddies loves the M12 through the Z-Best at the rehearsal space. Meanwhile, I have a 1x12 Z-Convertible cab w/a G12H Anniversary incoming for a bit more "portability" although I imagine the 2x12 cab will get more use.
So cool having a wall of Z's!

The M12 with a Z-Covertible cab (1x12) is plenty loud and sounds BIG! I have a G12H Anniversary in the 1x12 and it sounds fantastic with the M12 head. I really can't imagine it sounding better.

Correction: I'm not that stoked on the G12H Anniversary. I'm going to try a few speakers with the M12 including a C. Gold.

I have an M12 1x10 combo with a C. Gold. This sounds almost as big as my Z 1x12 cab with Gold. I also pair the combo with a 1x12 Blue; nice!

Put a C. Gold in my Dr.Z Convertible 1x12 and ran the M12 through that....Super cear, very defined and punchy! I think I'll keep it that way for awhile.
In my opinion the Celestion Golds work better as a single speaker than as a pair as they are so balanced. In my 2x12 I prefer two separate speakers (V-30 and G12H30) for a fuller sound.
I'm glad I cannibalized the 2x12 w/ Golds my buddy has and wasn't using and now I have one in my Z28 and the other in the 1x12.
