I just got home from a gig at a little dive bar (sometimes the most fun to play). This was the first time I played the Wreck at a gig without mic-ing (2nd time to ever play a gig, un mic'd)..
This meant I didn't have to use my plexi glass shield and could turn up (still 1 click down on my BL) and have nothing but pure amp (and pedalboard) .... I was, again, blown away by the Wredk. From Bakersfield country to choppy, modern rhythms and some light punk all without pedals and only a Tele.
I have never been as pleased with an amp as I am with the Z-Wreck..... I'm glad Doc decided to continue this amp and make it available to the public.
Thanks Doc.... And thank you Ken for your working with Doc on this amp!
[EDIT] Removed some of my "RedBull caffeine-high" enthusiasm.

Everyone is busy mulling over the Therapy I guess, haha. Myself included. However, the Zwreck is still on my list of must haves and I think I may try to offload some gear and grab the Wreck. I would love to downsize my pedalboard and I'm sure I could do away with many of my pedals when I get the Wreck, but I'm still a little concerned because we cover so much territory. Both me and the other guitarist play lead and we both use some sort of boost to bring our solos and such out front and over the band. Some solos are pretty clean, but most of mine have some hint of dirt from pedal or the amp. So, I'm not sure how that would play out with the Wreck and all, especially with boosting it. I know I could set it up as a somewhat clean platform but that's not what she was really made for. Your post has given me some hope though, because I feel like we cover a lot of the same ground - classic country, country rock, modern country, classic rock, and even some red dirt. Heck, we even play Guns N Roses tune.
Do you have any vids of you using the Wreck live?

It's a facebook video that I recorded with my phone.....Not sure you'll be able to see it unless you have a Facebook account: www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10203117931607833&set=vb.1192959056&type=3 This is Guitar > Bud Wah > Paisley Drive > TC Electronics Flashback Delay > Z-Wreck. There are other pedals in between there, but they're all turned off. You can sort of see my pedal board..... I use a Flying Dragon boost to bump up my solos. With the volume on the Wreck at 10:00 or lower, you get a decent volume bump, but with it much higher, it just gets dirtier. We play everything from Merle, Buck Owens, Waylon & Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed to Motley Cure, Metallica, Great White to SRV and Duran Duran. So I need a lot of pedals too.

Telejas, KILLER playing! Great example of the 'Wreck in action. I do feel the 'Wreck covers a lot of ground, especially if you have a few different flavors of OD on your board. the more I "learn" the 'Wreck, the more I'm leaning on just the GV for various amounts of dirt. I am using a Les Paul, so there's plenty of great overdrive happening quickly; my strat stays fairly clean up to about 7-8. So, I think it depends on what type of guitar you play as well, as to how "clean" the 'Wreck can be. But, it does allow the best characteristics of each guitar really stand out. Just phenomenal. And, again, I don't think the combo is really as loud as I was expecting. Just a magnificent sound.

Sounded great. I use the Paisley Drive pretty extensively with my Z's so that makes me feel better. We are starting to play some bigger stages but the large majority of our gigs are indoor, small stage, and mic'd up. But I have the ghia for the lower volume gigs if needed. My hope is I can still use the wreck at the lower volume gigs with the brake lite.

It's far and few between that I get to run without the BL.

Actually, now that I think about, I think I sold that you the extra Paisley Drive I had. Good to know you're still using it! But yea, between the brake lite and the badcat unleash, I think I could use it for most of my needs. I'm probably going the combo route.

Maybe from you, but I thought I traded a Timmy for it (whoever I got it from), but I could be wrong... It was on the Z-talk, so it could very well have been you?

Yep, that was me. I forgot about the Timmy being in the deal but you are correct! What settings are you using on the PD with the Wreck? I have both switches down normally.

I have both switches down normally. > Both switches down > Volume - Unity > Tone - 11:00 - 1:00 (depends on the guitar and room) - Usually closer to 11:00 with Z-Wreck > Gain - Usually 100% since it's my main "rock" pedal

Do I see a Pinnacle on the board as well, and another Wampler?. I did notice you had the gain maxed on the pedalboard shot. Sounds good though!

Yep..... A Pinnacle and a Triple Wreck, plus a Green Rhino, CMATmods Signa Drive and the Paisley. I'm sorta a drive junky! (this pic is using it with my Shiva, a darker amp.. So the tone is up higher on all my dirt pedals than I normally have them with the Wreck)

I don't feel so bad now lol! I have the Paisley, Barber Gain Changer, Barber Direct Drive, Timmy, and a BB Preamp MB. Haha! Nothing wrong with a little drive though!

Well as of today I am the owner of a Zwreck combo thanks to MarkT. It's enroute and should arrive Wednesday. I'm stoked!

Also, I have several attenuators to try with the Wreck. It has the brake-lite mounted in the combo cab, I have a full size Air Brake, and also a BadCat Unleash. I will probably use the brake-lite the majority of the time because of the convenience of it being mounted in the cab. I am really anxious to try it with the Unleash for several reasons - 1. It's a pretty transparent attenuator/re-amper, and... 2. Along with it being a re-amping device, it has two foot-switchable level controls. So in essence I can setup volume 1 as my main volume level and set volume 2 up as a post power amp lead boost. Using the post power amp boost won't add gain to the sound, just boost what's already coming out. Of course I will have a boost going into the amp as well... for those special moments.
