Anyone here use them? I'm really considering getting one. We have several venues where the audience is at ear level with our amps and really close to the stage. We do mic our amps but can't turn them up too much and if one of these would allow me to push the amp a little it should be worth it.

I made my own years ago - a sheet of plexi, cut by Home Depot, and 4 hinges. Worked great. Another guy just used heavy duty tape to make one kinda like a science fair display board. It helps for sure!

I have thought about making my own for sure. I seen where my local HD sells 1' x 2' lexan sheets and some piano style hinges. Actually, I have seen the teflon plastic hinges for sale somewhere but I can't remember where right off hand. I'll have to look into the DIY version a little more - it seems like a viable option for sure.

Yeah, if they are good enough for Joe B they are surely good enough for me!

About 10 years ago I was Nashville and went to the Monday night "open mic" which was followed by Mike Henderson and the Bluebloods. He was killing it through a few old Silvertone guitars and a tweed bassman. I laughed out loud when he put a liquor store cardboard display piece - the same thing that a vendor puts on his beer display, in front of the bassman. THAT was his shield! Obviously it fit that gig esthetically, but.....

After pricing the parts to build one comparable to the Clearsonic brand I found that I could get the real thing for $10 more. I sprung for the Clearsonic from sweetwater for $98 free shipping. I'm anxious to see how will work for our gigs.

I use the Clearsonic with my Maz 8 at church. It keeps me out of the singers' faces. Works good.
